At 24:08 I'd love some clarification on the need for "rememberRetained" as opposed to the existing "rememberSaveable". The docs for "rememberSaveable" says "the stored value will survive the activity or process recreation using the saved instance state mechanism (for example it happens when the screen is rotated in the Android application)". Is the problem that this doesn't save things long enough, or it saves them TOO long?
I enjoyed this episode a lot, like the hosts and the chemistry, and of course being particularly interested in the topic I really appreciate that the folks from Slack shared their vision and experience.
I used to love Compose. But now it’s a pain to me. I have a simple android app with compose. Now I'm trying to add a desktop version. But there is no well detailed documentation for this. What I found on the internet is pretty old and not working now. Whereas in Flutter it is just one click away.
I feel with you. My first multiplatform app was in Dart/Flutter, but have other issues there. I hope the documentation will increase! Also I miss libs which help me in dev.
