Veliko Tărnovo

Veliko Tărnovo (in Bulgarian Велико Търново) is a city in Bulgaria, seat of the region of the same name. It is also known as the "City of Countries". The city was located on the banks of the Iantra River, being the capital of the Vlach-Bulgarian Land between 1185-1393.
The old town was located on three hills: Țareveț, Trapezita and Momina Krepost. The former residences of the tsars and patriarchs of the Vlach-Bulgarian Land are located on the Țareveț hill.
