      His daughters are settled with their partners and he wants to distance with them, as they really think their role as parents is done.
      He wishes to die here. And his other brothers, my other uncles decided to co own the farmland so that they can have their organic farm, travel across India. And healthcare is quite accessible even from the farming Village. Why not?

      He can remain Indian if he wants to. I don't care. What I care about is that because he never became an American citizen and was NOT one when his son was born, Vivek is NOT a natural-born citizen.
      Why can't people understand the difference between an ordinary American citizen and the special citizen that is NATURAL-BORN? The founders took great care to establish that. We now downgrade it to a simple citizen. That was NOT their intent. Natural-born citizenship was required in order to help prevent foreign influence in the high office in the land. Do we care? They sure did.

    • @judypeterson3614
      @judypeterson3614 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@A__SB The point is that our founders demanded that a person seeking the highest office in the land be not just a simple citizen but a NATURAL-BORN citizen. I explained their source for that--Vattel's The Law of Nations. In it, Vattel clearly states that a natural-born citizen is someone born IN country to CITIZEN parents.
      It does matter that his father AND his mother were citizens of INDIA when he was born. That along keeps him from ever being considered a NATURLAL-BORN citizen.
      Our founders were deeply and vehemently concerned about the possibility of FOREIGN influence finding its way into the highest office in the land. Part of that stemmed from the fact that British loyalists lived in the newly-founded nation. That is why they required that the president be born HERE and to TWO citizen parents.
      Washington himself could not be a natural-born citizen under the founders' rules not could anyone of proper age at that time. That is why they included what is called the "grandfather" requirement. People who were Americans citizens at the time of the signing of the Constitution were eligible. Eventually, that generation died off and THEIR children then fell under the natural-born citizenship clause.
      That so many Americans do not think this is important boggles my mind. We had four years of an American-African MUSLIM man in our White House (NOT natural-born) .No one seemed to care. Those who did wasted their time chasing after his birth certificate when the evidence was staring us all in the face. His father was NEVER an American. NO ONE with a foreign parent at the time of his birth can ever be natural-born.
      Do we want another foreigner in our White House. By the way, Nimarata Nikki Randhawa Haley is also NOT a natural-born citizen. She was born to two parents who were citizens of INDIA when she was born.
      I am beyond sick and tired of people claiming the necessity of adherence to our constitution while they themselves do not know what it says or refuse to believe the things that are written therein!

    • @judypeterson3614
      @judypeterson3614 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@A__SB Have you ever taken the time to ascertain what the founders meant by Natural-born Citizen? I am guessing that the answer is "no." You have let others tell you what it means instead of investigating it for yourself. And do not be fooled by someone's credentials. Many idiots and fools have many letters after their names!
      IF we want to know what a term means, we must go back to the meaning it had when it was used. On the desk in the chambers where our framers drafted the Constitution were three copies of Vattel's The Law of Nations--one in French and two in English. The reason the founders did not define natural-born is because it was commonly and widely understood. Vattel expressed that common understanding and the framers were VERY familiar with it. Here is what is written in Section 212 of The Law of Nations:
      .
      "The natives, or NATURAL-BORN [emphasis mine] citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens. As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and
      succeed to all their rights."
      My point is this: The Founders thought that natural-born citizenship was important because they did not want foreign influence entering the highest office in the land. A NATURAL-BORN citizen is less likely to influenced by the internal affairs of another nation.
      Why do we not care about that? Like Vivek if you want, but he is not a natural-born citizen and is not eligible for POTUS. The fact that his father is a foreigner and wants to remain a foreigner makes Vivek a man with divided loyalties. What man will not be influenced by the prosperity and needs of his father's country? Why can people not see that?

      You're saying the naturalization test "in Cali" is different than everywhere else? Also, you're saying the test is a written test and comes in a whole variety of languages the applicant can choose from? Well, here's really how it goes. Firsts of all it's the same everywhere: there's nothing about taking the test "in Cali" that is special. Second, it isn't a written test. The test is in two parts: An English test, and a Civics test.
      The English test is of course in English. There is a writing part, where the applicant is read aloud a sentence by the tester, in English, and must write the sentence correctly. There is a reading part, where the applicant must read aloud an English sentence put before them successfully and the tester should be convinced the applicant understands the sentence. There is a spoken part, where the tester asks questions of the applicant about their application, and the applicant must answer in English any questions asked of them.
      The Civics test is actually an oral test, not a written one. Obviously someone has misled you if you think it's a written test, available in multiple languages.
      The test CAN be taken with an interpreter. The interpreter must be fluent in both your language and in English. The tester will ask 10 questions from a pool of 100 possible questions, about American history, politics, and the constitution. The applicant may phrase the answers any way they feel as long as the answers are correct.
      The Civics test proves your knowledge of the United States, while the English test proves your understanding of the English language, how to speak it, listen and understand it, how to read it and how to write it.

And anyone running for any public office (local, state, federal) should not only have to pass a basic citizenship test, but also take an additional test on what our constatution actually says/means. And possibly a MMPI. That or some kind of mental acuity test should be given periodically to those already in office, so we don't end up with these polititions that appear to not know where they are, or what they're supposed to be voting on. And are instead led around and told what to say by their staffers. Just a thought.

    People try so hard to catch him on a policy but they just don't have their listening ears on. He never said that children born here to non-citizens shouldn't be automatic citizens. He's saying as long as they are here legally...through the official immigration process or through legally seeking asylum. That would mean someone who came across the border without going through the legal process should not have their children automatically become a citizen. It makes sense to me...why doesn't it make sense to everyone? We have to stop incentivizing people breaking the law...period. Think of it, people know they can sneak into our border and have children also know that their being deported becomes a political and moral issue now...why? because if they have children here...are we now going to separate the children from their parents? NO! They need to go back to their country of origin WITH their children. The only thing I will say about Vivek here is the question of what about those children born to illegal immigrants who are already adults. Should they keep the citizenship...my response would be yes. You can't take it away now. But from this point forward...no new children will be granted automatic citizenship rights if their parents are here illegally.

    • @cker1924
      @cker1924 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The scope of birthright citizenship applies only if the parents were here legally.
      14th Amendment: “... and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, ..” Illegal entrants are not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.
      Persons not thus subject to the jurisdiction of the United States at the time of birth cannot become so afterward except by being naturalized, by proceedings under the naturalization acts,
      So no matter when a person was born here, if his parents were illegally here at the time of his birth, then he is also automatically illegally here. No exceptions! You have to follow the law! Once you start thinking of bending the law, it gets very complicated and the resulting discrimination gets challenged. So no special privileges, just for being here longer as an illegal entrant

      I'm all for that. People come here to simply better themselves and selfishly grab at opportunities rather than to be proud, loyal Americans. I'm sick of it. Is Vivek a real American? Does red, white, and blue flow through his veins or is he merely trying to advance his career and personal wealth?
      Why don't people who have grievances with their own countries simply stay there and FIX things? That's what good citizens do. They don't turn their backs on their native land and scurry to another one just to get things they can't get at home!
      Vivek and his family were not being abused or threatened in India. They are among the thousands who come here just to get what they can't get from their homelands. That is NOT the true spirit of immigration. Why doesn't Vivek go home and seek to fix the problems with India's government?
      He ran for president for the same self-serving reasons. Why does he seek OUR presidency? He knew he couldn't win, but he knew that such exposure would give him a step or two up the ladder. He planned to kiss up to Trump in order to do so. He's all about Vivek! Don't be fooled.
      He's biding his time for when he can actually win---and that win will only come because of STUPID Americans who don't know their own laws concerning eligibility. America is rooted in Europe. Have we become so far removed from that that we no longer care? Every other nation can boast of their founding but not America. She has to be open to everyone from everywhere. If Americans frown at putting a Hindu Indian in the White House, they are called xenophobic and hateful and intolerant.
      I wear those titles proudly. I want a legitimate American in the highest office in MY land--not some foreigner with a strange religion. Now bring on the hate!

IF Vivek becomes president, my hunch is that he is going to use this a negotiation tactics with democrats on granting citizenship to illegal who are already here vs who are coming "going forward". I am from south asia and personally know people who come here on tourist visa (6 months) when they are pregnant, then stay here until the baby is born and then go back to their country. This allows kid to choose US citizenship when they turn 18. If you ask me, pretty good way to cheat the system. You will never see MSNBC doing report of these cases. My guess is that Vivek having south Asian background, he knows these people growing up and now he fills he need to correct the system of ILLEGAL immigration. What's wrong with that?

    Why do your parents want to come to America in the first place? Why did they leave India? Do they want to have an opportunity for a good life have a good future? If that is what they want, then what is different from other people who have the same dream and the same thoughts as your parents? How did your parents get here legally in the first place? Your father has lived in America for over 40 years and still doesn't want to be a US citizen which is very surprising. If you apply for US citizenship the government will check on your background thoroughly. It seems like there is something about your father's background we don't know about?

    • @judypeterson3614

      And that is another red flag about Vivek. He has loyalty to his homeland because of his father's loyalty to his homeland. Why should we trust someone who has such close ties to a foreign nation? Let's be wise.
      The only reason so many tolerate him and do not care about his eligibility status is because he is not from a country with power and global "skin in the game" that directing impacts America's sovereignty and safety. What if he were from Iran or Russia? Would we be so welcoming then of someone whose father refuses to seek to be a citizen of the country he lives in and takes advantage of? I don't think so.
      Vivek is NOT a natural-born citizen of America and is not eligible for POTUS. All of the issue I just brought up are some of the very reasons our founders insisted on NATURAL-BORN citizen.
      Their is a German Christian homeschooling family with 11 children that has been in the U. S. for 15 years. Their children were taken away from them while they lived in Germany because they refused to send their children to the godless German schools. When their children were returned to them and they were instructed to get their kids into the governments schools. they fled to the U. S. They are facing deportation. It is even possible for any reasonable person to not see the hypocrisy and injustice in this case? THEY deserve to be here while millions without justification to be here get to stay.
      Americans, it is NOT wrong or unreasonable for you to be a proud American (if you are an American from birth or proper naturalization) and if you love this country and will defend her with your very life. Do not feel unjust in thinking that self-serving people who will NOT do those things do NOT belong here.
      Is Vivek Ramaswamy really an "American" or is he a citizen of India simply seeking to power and wealth for his own betterment with little or no regard for the welfare of the country in which he lives?

Whether the legal immigration was based on lottery system or other system does not matter. Again, the point is legal vs illegal immigration.

    First, establish a national workers data base. Second, pass laws that penalize any person or business that hires anyone not on that national workers data base. 30 days per incident in jail and a $10,000 fine for illegal hiring. Illegal immigration stops overnight.
    When there are literally zero jobs, and where every person in the country will turn you in to be deported, you're not going to come outside of a legal parameter.
    Exactly what it should be.
