Made the breathe hold. All thanks to you and the other spearos I’ve been learning from since I started spearing 4 months ago. Love the content. Keep em coming ✌️
Great stuff. Kimi Werner is amazing. I've had the experience of teaching a female friend to spearfish and getting surpassed by her a couple of lessons in.
I kept up with breath hold...but its much harder to do in the water! 3 min breath holds for training out of water, usually half that in the water. Impressive diving guys and gals!
7:12 Absolute fail, never fail to crack me up these edits 😂 Curious to know what sort of depths you were diving and typically how long are your breath ups between drops?
@@Spearfishing-DownunderI don't really notice the crushing feeling too much, but maybe that's because 20m is about my safety limit. I'm sure if I could go deeper it would be an issue. Not having a good fitting mask, have a wetsuit that restricts good breathups and the energy used if not weighed properly are my biggest issues.
hey Tim what exact Fin Kimi is using? also them Hawaiians are good at holding breath maybe because they really gotta stalk their fish over there Higher Spearfish Pressure I think haha maybe?😁
made it past the end of the dive comfortably. . . but thats on dry land, laying on my back with my eyes half closed so I would not call that a fair time at all lol. Also Kimi is a legend and one I greatly admire !
I have a problem. I can hold my breath on land for about 3:30 minutes but on water the most i ever did was about 1:30 i just want to know why is the difference soo big ?
I got to 1:37 then a bloody AD Popped up 🤣 but I have to be in water relaxed to hold longer.. also to josh for me I don't shoot a fish last minute on my way up.. your life is more important than a fish I spear on my own all the time you jus gotta be switched on at all times. some mob drown because they push themselves too far.. me and my brothers the way we dive, we swim along edges of reefs FAST we can go kilometres/miles that's how we dive we can go all day sun up til sun down that's how we do it, anyways nice video as always Tim also Kimi is good that's why she's on the RIFFE TEAM I guess..👍🙂❤
I want to do this so bad. Never thought about how important holding your breath would be though it seems obvious now. Is there anything you can do to improve your ability to do this?
Because if you are swimming in the water then you are burning more energy and using more oxygen. Also on land your heart rate is much slower which uses less oxygen. If you are cold and not as relaxed underwater then you will use up more oxygen. Walking while holding your breath could relate a little more
Funny how the 1st half of the video you call them mulloway then switch to call them Jewfish on the 2nd half. To those who are overseas, they are 2 different names for the same fish.
Aloha. Growing up in Florida, we used to have jewfish, until they changed the name to Goliath grouper. Of course yours are a different critter. At least the cobia are the same. Good eats!
@@Spearfishing-Downunder right now im saving to buy new one! much more expensive here in Philippines due to freight and tax. love riffe so much super accurate gun and last for a lifetime!
Did you subscribe?
Aloha. How can anyone not love Kimi?
She is awesome!!
Ahhhh hahaha I thought you guys just changed the thumbnail of the episode with Nikki. Fully missed this one. What a treat!!!
This is a really awesome vid part 2 also has some epic footage and fish!!

Holy heck what an insane episode! Can't wait for the second part
Will be a good one 😊
Always love your videos! cant wait for another episode with my lodicakes Kimi

I held my breath. It was extremely calming, especially with the sound of the reef.
Tim's guided dry statics 😂

Awesome video. You are right about Kimi, she is awesome.

Great stuff. Kimi Werner is amazing. I've had the experience of teaching a female friend to spearfish and getting surpassed by her a couple of lessons in.
Yep, if they get passed the water fear they can be incredible!
whadda FOOKIN SAVAGE GIRLLLL! WOW! that knife move was the best thing I've seen a diver do so far!
Looking forward to part 2!

Tops! Aweh
Wow! Couldn’t hole my breath for more than 30 seconds
It can be tough
7:12 Absolute fail, never fail to crack me up these edits 😂 Curious to know what sort of depths you were diving and typically how long are your breath ups between drops?
I definitely try to do 3 times surface interval to bottom time, I read that in manual of freediving years ago.. not always possible
The structure off seq can range so much you can be in 10m and in no time in 30m or more
Man I want to go diving again now…😅 epic vid as always Tim!
Cheers Dan!!
Get out into them 😂🤣
I don't have any problem holding my breath for over 2 mins sitting and watching, but it is not the same as physically exerting yourself when swimming.
It's because of the pressure from the water. It compresses your lungs, giving you less air.
The crushing feeling on the lungs does more to your head and causes you to be uncomfortable and get anxious
@@Spearfishing-Downunder said far better than me haha

made it through the dive, but if i would have moved as kimi and you did, id be ded now
Great job mate!

She is using the Riffe Composite fins
I think it’s because they are so relaxed and laid back
Aloha. If you’ve ever lived in Hawaii, you’ll realize the kids are raised in the ocean.
they're not the only ones us indigenous Australians we are too@@adamyoung480
we are raised in the ocean too the ocean is world wide islands all over the world bud@@adamyoung480

When’s part 2 ahaahaha 😂 epic vid bro
Post every 2nd Saturday atm
Trying to make it every Saturday
Made it but definitely not doing that in the water lol
made it past the end of the dive comfortably. . . but thats on dry land, laying on my back with my eyes half closed so I would not call that a fair time at all lol.

😂😂 yep definitely harder diving and hunting.
I have a problem. I can hold my breath on land for about 3:30 minutes but on water the most i ever did was about 1:30 i just want to know why is the difference soo big ?
2 things the energy expended swimming
And secondly the stress and fears in the water could be causing you to be uptight and not relaxed enough
@Spearfishing-Downunder thank you brother 🙏
Hati hati bro❤
Did it!
Well done 😊
Kimi such a beautiful woman from Hawái she is one of the best spearfisher woman
100%

Definitely time in the water, diving as often as you can
Ultimate collab. This is fuckn sick!
Can you make videos. Tips how to hold breath like kimmy?
Thanks. I'm from Indonesia
Just made the breath hold
Well done mate!!
Loving watching you with the women xx
They are Awesome divers!!!
1:57 not bad with the flu
I got the static, but active!? 👏🏼
Well done!!
Get Ryan Myers and Justin Lee over , that would be a great co lab
I hung out with Justin when I was in Hawaii, he is an awesome bloke, we talked about spearfishing nearly till sun up 😂😂
Mate 50sec Maan slack😁
Great start! 😊
i could hold my breath for that time and more on land but in water idk why going like a 1 + its difficult

Definitely swimming up and down uses alot of energy
i don’t understand how she does that with such a high volume mask it’s crazy
She is just an awesome diver!!
Only a minute and 7 ☹️
That’s a good start
This will do while we wait for Buddy to get his aim and breath holds down. Just joking Buddy

Honestly, naturally I call them jewfish, but was trying to say mulloway to try be PC, jewfish just kept coming out 🤦🏽♂️😂🤣

@@adamyoung480 we actually have 6 species of Jewfish here, all similar. Mulloway are the biggest of them
