2022 Fastest Trowel on the Block

- The MCAA's Fastest Trowel On The Block Competition took Las Vegas by storm for another year during the 2022 World of Concrete Convention. The contest is a showcase of industry craftsmanship, and a testament of both the speed and skill of our industry's workforce. Only those journeymen masons who have the skill, confidence, and courage to face-off with the industry's best are invited to compete. This is a contest that also proves how important teamwork is in accomplishing a final product.
All of the block for the competition was provided by Best Block and all of the mortar was provided by SPEC MIX.
TOP THREE FINISHERS
1st Place - Roberto Cimental & Mark Diaz - Arizona State Masonry - Gilbert, AZ
2nd Place - Gerardo Patlan & Luis Costilla - Adams Fence LLC - Phoenix, AZ
3rd Place - Lwdin Sandoval & Edgar Nieto - Sargon Masonry Construction, LLC - Phoenix, AZ
FIRST!!! THESE GUYS DESERVE MORE RECOGNITION THAN THEY GET!! I WAS A LABORER FOR A MASON COMPANY AND THAT SHIT IS NOOO JOKE. I'VE GOT NOTHING BUT RESPECT FOR THESE GUYS!
I CAME IN 19th place out of 20.. people made me the joke of the competition . Worst part my wife’s ex husband was the 1st place winner., a real hot shot.. I stayed with it worked very hard.. I now own a Masonry consulting firm. We operates in 28 countries. Keep your heads high and your trowels sharp

Great fun, if you like block laying as a sport? You won't see them do that for 7 hours. Before these guys were born my father did and he couldn't afford gloves. He would tape up his fingers and at the end of the day we would "help" him remove what was left of the tape exposing a few strawberries and a little blood.
