My first tampon story:
I was around 12 when this happened. I was going to the water park, and I had never used a tampon. I used a light one, but I was literally not even bleeding (but I knew I would start later). So I put one in, but it felt uncomfortable, so I took it out. I tried to put another one in, but I was causing us to be late. Long story short, my parents were yelling at me; I felt rushed and was crying while trying to put a piece of cotton in my downstairs area. My mom just eventually just said, "Forget it. You're not putting one in." Once I told her I wasn't bleeding, she was so confused as to why I was putting one in. I told her I was gonna bleed later, but she just said don't worry about it. I ended up free-bleeding that day 😐. Btw ilysm Sharon 💖. If you do read this comment can you plz put it in your next tampon horror story video? Ty 😊

Here’s mine: I was 11, I had started my period at 10. I wanted to go swimming but I used pads so I couldn’t. I was so mad! My mom told me, “okay, fine! You just have to take it off once your done swimming!” So my mom and I went into the bathroom, and she had to put it in for me. It started to hurt, and I screamed! My mom put it in wrong, and it hurt when putting it in and taking it out! I was in so much pain!! So now I am terrified to use a Tampon!! I also just ended my period, so thanks!!

I am a competitive swimmer, so learning the way of tampons is a MUST for me, and the rest of the girls on the team that are my age. But due to some mental issues and some disorders, I lost my period. But I WISH I had found your channel, Sharon, before I got my period about two years ago. But now I'm educating myself!
Not my first time but a bad experience for sure:
Day before Father’s Day, I put in a tampon at around 6 pm. At about 7.30 I decided to take a nap and set a timer but I slept through the timer until 9.20 am next morning. I woke up and had a panic attack when I remembered about my tampon. I thought I was gonna get tss and die! Thankfully I was able to calm myself down and go take the tampon out. Let me tell you it smelt SO bad but I somehow got no infections at all and just gave my dad his present

I’ve had my period for almost a year now, and never really tried tampons. I’ve been homeschooled, but now that I’m going back to public school I asked my mom if I could get tampons to try, because after watching your videos im not scared anymore, and she let me! I’m supposed to get my next period in a day or so, so I’ll get to try them then! Thank you!! I also got the little 3 pack box incase someone asks me for one, Im also gonna take pads to school, incase people as for those too

@@hannahjolene3333 They’re so much better than pads! I can barely feel it and it’s very comfortable! My first try I didn’t grip the base well so I had to readjust my grip and try again, but it worked very well!

Honestly I don’t have one but every time I get cramps, it’s the end of the month, *when I pee* , I get excited and terrified XD
Not a tampon story, but I was trying a new menstrual cup overnight and I was barely bleeding. I put it in around 7pm and left it in overnight because I wake up at 6 and you can leave a menstrual cup in for 12 hours. So when I woke up I tried to take it out, but it was suctioned so hard that I couldn’t even get it to budge. My mom didn’t want to try to help me so she took me to the ER and the only doctor there was a cis man. But it finally came out and I got Starbucks afterward so it wasn’t that bad. (Btw I’m thirteen)
I'm sorry that happened to you. Sounds like the suction was too firm. My favourite cups that don't suction too hard are the meluna soft and the Lena sensitive
yeah i’ve tried some other ones and they were fine, but now I have an iud so i don’t use them anymore, and instead use either a disc or period underwear

I'm glad we have period-tubers like her. Because PERIODS SHOULD NOT BE TABU. You should be able to tell your dad. And he shouldn't have a weird/awkward/Uncomfortable face.
When I first used tampons it took me like I swear 10 different times to get it right and now I where tampons all the time when I’m on my cycle

My first time using a tampon story:
So me and my friends went swimming, so I put in a tampon, and we went swimming and everything was fine, after we got out of the pool when I was changing I couldn't find my string so I thought my tampon fell out and I told one of my friends and then she told the lifeguards of the pool and they saw something in the middle of the pool that they thought was a tampon so they shut down the pool(it was so embarrassing)once I got home and went to the bathroom I realized my tampon was still inside of me and the string was too, I tried to get it out for like 30 minutes and couldn't get it, I started freaking out and crying bc I thought I was gonna have to go to the ER.Eventually I asked my friend to help me and she did but we still couldn't get it out. Later I tried again and finally got it. (never using a tampon again)
I wasn’t allowed to wear tampons so i secretly bought some. I was on my first day of my period and i was dry,it hurt so much😭but i tried taking it out and couldn’t. I spread myself in the bathtub trying to take it out for almost 30 mins. It was honestly the worst pain. But ngl watching sharons vids made me more comfortable to wear tampons when needed😅
I used to spend hours on yahoo reading stories like this and it helped massively to avoid mistakes😂😂 also i read the leaflet in my sister's tampon box, does nobody follow instructions?😂
im so grateful that my school has a whole cupboard of period supplies in the girls bathroom and refills it every week they also give period education once a month

The first time I tried to use a tampon, i was stressed because I knew I wouldn't be able to go to the waterpark if i just used pads, and i was crying and blood was all over my hands and after a good half an hour of struggling, i just gave up. I might try it again but I think that period underwear is much better for me.

I was in fifth grade on had gotten my first period. I didn't know what ro do so I just put toilet paper and told my bestie that had already gotten hers. I had to tell my male teacher. Everybody watched me walk out if the classroom to call my mom. I was crying too.

i do NOT lose 1-2 tablespoons per period. I lose WAY more. If you saw my pads, you’d agree that it’s a lot more 😂

My first time using a tampon: I had always wanted to try one, but I was scared, then one day i asked my mom to buy me tampons, and she did ofc. I spent like two hours watching videos on how to do it. When I finally got it in i was so happy. We went to the store shortly after and i felt wet down there, but it was like a 100 degrees outside so I didn't think to much about it. Once we got to Target I looked down and realized that i had bled all over my skirt, and then we had to buy me a pair of shorts to change into, also it hurt so bad pulling it out because it was my first time, I'm better at it now, lol.

I love male OBGYNS. I also love male doctors in general. I think they listen better over all. I have only had three good females in the medical field. They are my physician's assistants and that's it.

I don't have any period horror stories yet, since I havent gotten my period yet, but I know one thing: I am terrified of tampons. Just the thought of sticking something up there wit the possibility of it making my period worse and also that little thing about TSS?

i know how you feel mine are so bad that i can’t even go without pain medicine (since 13 or 14) and i am 19 🥲 and i still cramp with midol. have to take them every few hours just so it’s more “bearable”! i tried to go once without the pain meds and let’s just say i’ll never do that again ✌🏼🏃🏼♀️

It wasn’t a tampon story but I was at school and I had my period. I didn’t know what to do so I just rolled up tissues and had them between the lips. I was walking with my friend around school then I realized that the tissues fell somewhere 😭😭😭 and I still dk where it fell or if someone found it!

Here’s mine: we had people over and I was like we are going to the lake so I am going to try one and it completely failed, it did not go in all the way and it was a super…. My flow is light…. It hurts so bad to do any thing especially take out but the next day a got a regular in with no problem so yeah

I am very new to periods. But I got my tampon in first try and taught myself it took me like 5 min
My first time trying a tampon was against my will because my whole family wanted to go to what’s called the blue hole which is like a swimming area and I obviously couldn’t stay home alone so I had to go along, but my mom said I’m gonna have to put in a tampon for the first time because I had to wear one while swimming so we stopped at the dollar store on our way and as you can tell, we’re already off that we’re using a dollar store bathroom to insert my first tampon. My mom is explaining what it is and how to use it and I tried and within about a minute, I was crying because I tried to stick it in the wrong hole then my mom offered to help and give me a little more direction because I didn’t have a mirror or anything. I was just improvising. Moral of the story I did not put a tampon in and I ran to the car because of how bad it hurt it’s been a year now and I still haven’t tried on a tampon and I don’t plan on doing it until I’m 14 or at least a little older

RIGHT so when i was 12, for some reason i really wanted to get my period, and was really exited about getting it soon. so i used to practice putting on my mums pads. and i decided to practice a TAMPON 😭😭(rookie mistake) i got it in fine but then i couldn’t get it out💀i panicked and just yanked it and after about 20 min of pulling it came out (painfully). NEVER AGAIN 😂😂
This was not my first time using a tampon but it is my tampon horror story, I was 15 and always used those tampons with that applicator or whatever so I got the tampon in but I couldn't get the applicator out, I tried for 15 minutes, then I called my mom and she tried, but she couldn't either. then she called my school (because I was going to go to school that day) and told them that I'm not coming to school today. Then she called the doctor and made an appointment, then about 5 hours later we went to the doctor and they removed the applicator with a special type of pliers. Since then I have not used tampons with an applicator.
My story 😌,
I was on my first period ever and I had dance, I put it in out not quite far enough and it was uncomfortable. After a 6 hour dance session it low key hurt to pull out but it was fine in the end, the next day I figured it out and now I prefer tampons over pads lol

I lost count of how many years it took me to truly insert a tampon correctly, I really thought I was never going to get it. its been multiple years and its pretty easy now
I have not used one since this, but I put in the wrong size (it was a regular, and my mom nor I thought it was too big). Well it was.. And it swelled up inside of me and I couldn't get it out for about.... 15 hours. So I was in the bathroom and had to yank it out... I've been thinking about trying again and trying to get the courage to do this again, it was about a year ago. Luckily I didn't have to go to the hospital and had no medical conditions. So, WISH ME LUCK! XD

I was at camp when I got my period and we were going to the beach and I was wanting to use a tampon but I was too afraid but on the way to the beach my best friend says to me that she used a tampon before and it was not way to hard and that it was easier if she practiced when she did not have her period! I freaked out and said that she shouldn’t be putting in a tampon when she was dry down there! She still does it

I'm also on my period and I feel like mother nature is testing my limits this week, but overall it was a pretty good week and I'm thankful to be able to have my period and probably have children someday.
We have to try to see always the good things above the bad.
It is okay to have bad days. But always remember that there's always some good moments in bad days.

I had to go to a water pack my second period. Took me an hour in the hotel bathroom, had to change it at the park, put it in too shallow, had to keep pushing it up THROUGH MY SWIMSUIT 😭

the first time i used a tampon my mom put it in for me already akward i had it in for 5 hours it hurt while i had it in i tried taking it out i couldnt my mom tried taking it out she couldnt i went to the doctor thinking i would have a female doctor cause its just what someone would expect but no it was a male doctor who had to take it out i had a cry sesh after and them bled on my bed through my pad that night

I’ve never used a tampon. I am just as afraid of them as needles. But I have the depo provera (I probably spelled that wrong) shot every 3 months. I just had my 3rd dose yesterday and let me just say. Squeezing my arm saying “relax” DOES NOT HELP 😭
