Amazing tutorial the miniature looks fantastic and I think this could apply for massive armies in a decent amount of time. I just got my warlord successors starter army and your tutorial is gonna be the main reference to paint the army thanks so much
Love the little device you've got for the shields! I'm going to give it a try on my next batch of ancients. Stellar job on this figure and I like the process you've got for doing the rank and file...especially if you have to paint like 200+ of them. I look forward to putting the techniques into practice!
Nice paint through. I agree on the awesomeness of apothecary white. He turned out great! You're really bundled up, must be chilly where you're at. We're having a 30 degree heatwave here in Iowa, lol.
Well done tutorial. I will say you put a lot more time into rank and file troops than I do, and it shows! Next time would like to see some of the small detail work that was done off camera.
Great tutorial. Currently deciding on getting into the game. Looking into playing Greeks, my friend is getting into EIR. Thinking of mixing the starter warlord box with the Macedonian victrix box given you can build those models as Spartans! Also don't need the whole batch of 4 ranks deep to have spears up. Just the first two ranks, second two can be the more relaxed/marching pose. What would you recommend?
You have inspired me Sir, you tutorial was amazing.

Thank you!! Yeah it’s been chilly here, single digits/teens in Michigan. Sometimes I like to bundle up more then crank the heat haha.
Looks great, I always struggle with the white base and gold ontop. What I do now is paint those brass bits dark brown like Rhinox hide kinda thing

Great tutorial! Thank you.
I like your block for painting shields. Very clever. Do you bother to paint the back side of the shields?
Great tutorial.
