    Great review. If money were no object I would have a boxer BMW sitting next to my Harley. Thanks.

      LOL, I did the same last November... 2018 Sport Glide, now with a 2023 R1250 GS. Could consider trading in the Sport glide for one of these or a R 1250 R.

    Beautiful video ❤. I own a scrambler Ducati 800 right now. Bought it in my 20’s, now I’m in my 30's i think this bike better suits me now cause I’m getting old. LOL. And can’t deny that horsepower and torque upgrade either. Cool video mate!

    Great review 👍 I test rode one of these and an RT back to back. Within 100 yards I knew I didn’t like the T. I wanted to as I love the looks etc. shame.
    Onto the RT and I didn’t want to take it back to the dealer. It rode so nice and easily.

    I don't like the look of the wheels, wire spoke wheels suit this bike much better. But they are an option, and I guess will add weight that could make the bike closer to the original. But cost more. 😊

    I was on the fence on this bike. I was in the market for a bike and I watched many reviews of the old version and this new 2024. I went with the last years 2023 and couldn't be happier. Thank you for your video.

      I took one out while my r9t scrambler had a service. I was so happy to get mine back...the new bike felt plasticky and a rip off for the price. Sure you can chuck it about but the build really felt cheap in comparioson with the old bike. Even the dealer said the old models are a lot more bike for your money.

  • @Fernando90054

    The new bike has a quick shifter that the predecessor hasn’t, but the older gearbox in my opinion was very satisfying. I don’t mind clunky. I like to feel that hardness in these bikes. But for the one who values quality smoother ride, this R12 is much smoother that the r nine T. The seat is softer and more comfortable, but. I felt a bit crushed in the bike. The digital minimalist screen is cute, but on a bike like this I would go for the analog clocks. The gas tank lost 1 liter of capacity in name of beauty and of the new frame which is more compact, inclusively the air box intake is now undercover ( it’s change that aesthetically I didn’t appreciate, the external intake design). The suspension is filtering better the irregularities of the asphalt which also adds comfort to the bike. And the keyless solution, for me it’s an error on a bike that has a retro vibe, feel of the mechanical functions and design. I fancy the key to turn on the bike.
    I have a R nine T 2022 Scrambler and I’m not trading. On that opinion I’m with Scott here.

    • @paulwalker797
      @paulwalker797 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I agree. I will keep my R9T scrambler... a much better, and more robust bike than the new models. I found the build quality to be cheap on he R12, rigt down to the iinsubstantial sde stand. Who needs a quick shifter on such a bike?

    • @Fernando90054
      @Fernando90054 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, that’s also what I think. The bike doesn’t need a quick shifter. I find the digital little screen cute, but I also prefer the analog clocks. And mainly, on our R Nine T’s who need keyless technology? I don’t need it at all. Mine is fine and it’s becoming better and better as I ride it more 👌🏻

    BMW destroyed the ninet, speed shifter ? who cares ? This thing lost his character.
    The old ninet took them at least 3 years in design, the new one has a good engine as always.

    I bought a '23 R nineT a few months ago. I ride pretty hard. I have not noticed ANY problems with the handling over a broad array of roads. I fail to see how this new 'stiffer' frame could make any real world difference ... it is already quite stiff enough !.

  • @MH-xd2nd
    @MH-xd2nd 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Interesting - I’ve long preferred the air/oil cooled boxer engine from this model over the later LC models, both in terms of feel and sound. However, I’ve tested or had an R Nine T as a loan bike many times since 2015 and all I can say about the suspension is “boneshaker”. Head over heels the worst suspension on any bike I’ve ever ridden. I recently had the new R12 and it’s even worse. Feels like there is no rear suspension at all. The other slight negative is with the intake/exhaust from back to front instead of top one bottom on the LC engine, I keep whacking my shins into them. It’s a nice looking bike and the low seat height and lower weight compared to something like a GS make it accessible to much wider range of riders. The real challenge for BMW is the wide availability of mint low mileage used R Nine Ts below half the price of a new bike. If I were in the market I’d seek out a used minter.

    on my clunky QS the shifter will be smooth when shifted at the natural shift point. The shift point increase with the gear so if 2-3 is at 3k 3-4 will be 3.gk and 4-5 4K - just my experience
    I get that a QS should shift smooth outside the natural shift point but i have to work with what I go -DL800

    Nice laid-back review. Like your style. Small changes, not much difference really. The biggest PIA with the old model was you had to remove the petrol tank to service the air filter and battery. If you can now get access to those by simply removing the seat, then that's a big plus. But is that the case?
