- I don't have a proper description yet so I'll fill it in later. Just wanted to give a huge thanks in advance to everyone for the immense support in advance :)
EDIT : Okay I'm not as deathly exhausted as I was when I published this so I can now spare a few more words in the description. Anyways, I admit this project got a whole lot bigger than intended so it was really taxing to work on and pull through for various reasons. Nevertheless, I'm still grateful and somewhat happy with what I was able to achieve. From sketches to a nearly 6 min film, I can't express to you how I wouldn't have been able to complete this as much as I could. Although not perfect, I think this shows how much progress I was able to make within a short span of time in my studies. I will forever cherish the lessons I've been taught by my lecturers, fav artists, friends I admire and the hard earned skills that I've been sharpening throughout the years. It all accumulated into this and I should be proud of what I've managed to achieve despite the odds. It was a tough challenge, I will admit that though... I did that. I really did. Oh my God, yanno? Alhamdulillah, never in my wildest dreams, did I think I'd make it here so thank you, everyone. Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart and thanks past Starrie for not giving up!! 💌💌💌

Synopsis:
Dayang wears a traditional, Sarawakian Malay head piece called the "keringkam" in celebration of Sarawak Independence Day at her high school. She wanted to bring Sarawak laksa for the potluck. While she was searching for the ingredients, her little brother stumbles into the kitchen. He asked her about her costume and she explained in a mixture of Sarawakian Malay dialect and English. For a twist, a musical component is included, whereby the Sarawak laksa preparation method was shown via a sing-song demo.

Take the chicken out,
Let the shrimp go in,
Let ‘em sit in the water
for a minute,
And after that mini-swim,
We drain ‘em out,
Put ‘em aside
Let some pounded lemongrass,
Take a turn to sit inside
And start adding the S’rawak laksa paste
And let it boil and simmer over medium heat
Pour in the coconut milk
To thicken the gravy
Add in the seasonings
And you help me stir,
Yes sir,
Keep at it lil guy

@@StarrieGalaxyExpress ASDALKJL- HECK YEA YOU COOKED MATE 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Also I find it interesting that some Malay words and Filipino words have some similarities i.e.: "Manok" = "chicken" and "bihun" = "bihon/pancit". "Masuk" also kind of sounds like "Pasok" which means enter in Filipino. Overall, very cool vid mate! Made me learn something new! 💛✨

This short randomly popped out so idk if it's only a test run but OMG- sebagai gadis melayu/indon(?), aku tidak tahu keistimewaan pakaian cantik ini ataupun latar belakangnya yang berkaya raya! Budaya dan bahasa pun rasa agak dekat sama walaupun i feel a lil lost abt my heritage... Knowing we at least share good food like Laksa make me feel alot more closer to it :')

Your art style is very pretty and cute i like it very much. Other part i want to say something about it. I don't know about how hard animation is but why is the character face in the beginning to the middle of the video have no face suddenly? Like 1 second it have face and then the other second it have blank/nothing. I also noticed that your coloring got out of the lineart for abit in the beginning, maybe you can touch it up? The animation are fine but it's a bit clunky in my eyes it's like animatic. Anyways, goodluck on your progress!

Secondly, I was already very late in submitting this work for my assignment so I had to cut up some parts, that's why it's choppy.
