PS ours has the 1.6 petrol engine carried over however the Turbo has been removed and replaced with an e-motor - not both eek apologies
Just discovered this channel, and you guys are fantastic to watch! I love the more human and down to Earth approach - a nice change from someone just reading out stats from a script for 10 minutes.
High praise indeed - thank you, we’ve a fun new Swift video coming out this evening with road adventure to follow, also please shout out the channel from the roof tops 😀 that way we can get more and more vehicles, have a relaxed day
Very suave - I am quite a fan of this new design. I much prefer the body coloured side cladding on this N line compared to the other trims.
Yes, it’s well appointed - and who doesn’t love light bars, hope alls good Kurtis
Hyundai proving again how far they & Kia have upped the anti these past few years ! There's a price to pay literally for all the tech going in to new cars these days but it's taken the cars out of every day people's reach ! Most cars now are pcp or leasing deals but that's how life in general is heading. Great review of a what is another car Hyundai have brought to the market place to take on the bigger brands .thanks for that planet auto 🚘 🎉
Sad thing is, everything’s more expensive now 😵💫😵💫 and yes, Hyundai and Kia have come out with some fantastic motors recently. Glad you enjoyed it, @davidmarshall5596 - part 2 coming soon. *A
Don’t you Brits understand that pcp deals you actually pay the full cost of a new vehicle for the time you have it plus a profit to the pcp provider. No free lunch
@whatthe6532 it’s certainly a chosen way here to acquire a vehicle
The Kona certainly seems to have grown up. Excellent road trip. I used to occasionally go to the British Library in Wetherby with work, but haven't been for over 25 years.
Glad you enjoyed it, @Ambienfinity - keep an eye out for part two! Ooo, haven't been to the British Library - what's it like? *A
@@PlanetautoUK Oh the BL is worth a visit -- they used to keep all the newspapers there, huge place. Looking forward to Part 2! It seems like a nice smooth ride and a good mix of practicality and style -- I like the Mercedes-style digital instrument cluster, too.
We’ll add it to our road trip stops thank you Ambien 😀 yes it’s great they’ve kept functionality but made it modern.
Great overview in real life situations
Thank you Hove Lad, we do love a road trip lots of road trips coming.
I put a deposit down a few weeks ago for the Hyundai Kona premium model I’m so excited!!! It drove so well and the suspension was amazing! I found out at the end of the test drive that we were driving in eco mode but it was still so punchy it was awesome!
The Kona that just keeps giving, enjoy and keep us posted on your adventures. 🏔️🛞
I love that car.😊
Yes, they’re impressive Joe, thank you
We have bought the new Kona Hybrid N Line and it's a fantastic piece of kit. We've been getting circa 60 mpg. It was worth the waiting time as we had ordered it 9 months previously.
That’s great news, planning any road trips?
Have you been able to turn off the eye tracking/speed assistant by default?
We never got chance, the vehicle went back sadly, have you managed it?
@@PlanetautoUK my car gets delivered in March, hopefully by then I would have found a solution
Not too long now 😀
Why didn't you go for the full EV option? 204hp is beast mode. And so quiet.
We’d road tripped both Ioniq 5 and 6 AWD, and our viewers like to see hybrids too, and this was the best of both worlds.
@@PlanetautoUK Thanks for the reply. Ioniq 5/6 are awesome! I just got the new Kona EV in red ;) really love it!
@doobieters1234 you’re welcome, red very nice, a colour you don’t see as much nowadays, enjoy
four dots on steering wheel is Morse for 'H'
That makes more sense, thank you Ms 🫢😆😀😊
Excellent job as usual guys. Which is better, this or the Honda ZR-V?
Thank you George, they’re very similar however weirdly the Honda is NCAP 4, looks wise both different but as pleading, Honda more traditional looks, I d say economy better with Kona, not that much in it though, as ZRV has Civic powertrain that’s a winner - both enjoyable to drive. Hope this helps
@@PlanetautoUK Appreciate that, cheers.
@George-iy8dd you’re welcome 👍
I’m looking at this and the HRV. If you were in my position, what are you picking?
What are your requirements Damon?
have a test drive booked for the weekend - anything I should look out for?
Which one is it? Trim powertrain etc Robert?
@@PlanetautoUK test-driving the Hybrid Ultimate.... If I get one it would just be the N Line
@robertworth5328 just enjoy the experience we found it an impressive SUV, looking forward to your thoughts
@@PlanetautoUK very very nice.... Considering the Ultimate (n-line red trim across the dash is annoying).....
Yes, it’s love hate I understand why it’s there on N Line though, great to hear you liked it Robert.
Great road trip. What's the GPS setting you are using? Very cool sounding
Thank you Shaun, Waze - J117 Master Chief Halo
Whoop whoop I've been looking for this video for a while now. When I watched it the first time I thought the Sat Nav voice was so cool and chilled. Now I've just got my Ioniq 6, I can use Waze as the voice in my car is boring with no other options available
@stunkofevil4126 excellent and bogus, hmm you should be able to download the Waze voice to your phone 😀
What is the range of electric only?
Electric Kona or has this a pure electric range, Simon?
what was the beeping the Kona was making down to, but other than that looks a nice car
Thank you, @andreworr927. The beep was the speed limit alert - a wee bit over zealous, lol! Likely it can be tweaked in the infotainment settings though. *A
Which model is on this video? N Line S ? Thanks
Yes, N Line S Mike
Thank you👍
@mikenotley528 you’re very welcome
Love the look of the new Kona been in a N-line as well very comfy love that the rear end looks a bit like RoboCop lol
Your move, creep...
Hello is it ok to drive it on highway 140kmh for long distances like 100km and how much the fuel consumption reaches when the battery is dried out?
Sadly, we have no clue - we cannot drive that fast here! Up to 70mph - which is the legal limit in the UK - it did well (112/113kmh) however, you do expect it to be less economical at higher speeds though. It was perfectly fine long distance - likely, with no battery you could expect 35-40mpg and we got up to 75mpg at points travelling at 60-65mph (37-40kmh) Hope this helps - thank you, @xrhst0s2114 *A
Thank you very much!@@PlanetautoUK
@xrhst0s2114 you’re very welcome 😊
I have my Kona N Line hybrid since 15 days. I already drove 1800km to visit my family from Nice south of France to Lille North on the high way. The consumption has been 5.5L/100km at 110/120 km/hour.
Sorry for my poor english😢
Very good english can you try going 140-150 just to see the consumption?@@vm8924
Should've got the EV version..
We’ve experienced it’s sister the Niro EV 😀 road tripped that too Decimal
@@PlanetautoUK And how did you like it? ;)
Shame just as you said the tyre noise was noticeable you ended that part abruptly thus preventing the viewer from judging for themselves by listening without any commentary for a few seconds to the point you were making.
We use professional Rode mics, it’s never an accurate representation - the only way to tell is for the viewers to experience it for themselves. This is why we voice it primarily.
I am a proud owner of the new Kona. Tyre noise, as you know, is variable in relation to the road surface. On a good surface, its as quiet as a mouse.
Exactly, thank you
Jeez that’s one ugly contraption , like something Ssangyong rejected 15 years ago .
Your certainly stuck in your ways, and here’s me thinking you’d prefer it as it has an actual engine 😆
It’s good it an actual engine, but you would have to admit its looks are err challenging.
@@richardhowlett9424I prefer it to the previous gen, plus the mpg astounded me
Too many clashing creases in the design , nothing coherent , those lights back and front . Give me the clean styling of say an Accord 😄 . In the last few years Hyundai and Kia have made some fine looking vehicles, until now .
where as that stands out to me and appeals, horses for courses @@richardhowlett9424
