Seeing how beautiful these displays look in this video which is being displayed on my LCD monitor makes me appreciate just how good my LCD is. I can't fathom what a nice MicroLED screen looks like in person.
I still have Panasonic plasma from 2009. The image still looks great. If it dies today, (any) OLED is the way to go. Hopefully, Micro LED will come soon.
I still have my 2009 Panasonic Plasma too, going strong. But I am starting to want some more modern features. Can't decide if QD OLED is the way to go or to keep waiting for micro LED.
Your plasmas picture would have seriously degraded over the years. The colors will be much less bright and vivid. Plasma degrades over time...I had one too and it was just a shadow of what it once was when I decided to go OLED about 8 years ago. Now I have mini led and oled tvs. If you are still watching that old plasma, you are really missing out on far superior pictures.
@donkey3187 I have seen newer televisions oled, qled etc. My plasma can still hold up. Even my friend with Sony qled is still blown away by my plasma tv. Blu-ray on my plasma still looks better than Netflix on qled.
@@BunnyslippersEUC Simply not possible. When my plasma was new, it was amazing. Ten years later, it was just okay. It degrades gradually, so may not be apparent to you. But plasma degrades, so its impossible for it to be nearly as bright or vivid after that many years. If you to watch a mini oled or led tv next to it, they would blow the old plasma out of the water....much brighter and much more vivid colors.
We live in an odd time. You can buy a 65 inch lcd for 300 dollars. They are low end trash though. Tvs have been more expensive historicly. A 50 inch tv 20 years ago cost like 5 grand and they looked awful.
@@veilmontTV Not necessarily. People once said the exact same thing about OLEDs. I have a mini led tv and an oled tv. While the oled tv picture is gorgeous, the mini led can do things the oled cant. Both are fantastic in their own way. I think signs this year are that mini tvs are in fact doable and will be affordable and available in the coming years. Once that happens, OLED will go the way of plasma tvs.
3:46 I don’t think gen 2 and 3 TVs have fixed it Please check as Samsung wouldn’t introduce a matte finish to try and alleviate it unless if it’s not fixed and that’s on a gen 3 panel so it’s safe to say gen 2 didn’t get fixed And even then there’s report that the matte finish didn’t fix it just scattered the effect
I just picked up a gen 3 qd oled from Phillips it's still using the same Samsung panel as all others of course but there's zero magenta on my model, I was actually confused because I was expecting it.
Just to be clear, LG's current standard and MLA OLEDs are plenty bright enough to compete with room light and look great and have more picture technologies like Dolby Vision and better prevention of burn in than QD-OLED. So. QD-OLED isn't the only way to go.
I hope you know that QD OLED could use MLA by 2025. QDOLED is better and Sony has Dolby Vision which is so overrated and most people don't even care for except for the niche crowd
Even if qd is better its far more expensive. Im happy to sit on my lg c9 and lg cx tvs for a few more years, since their still incredible tvs. Maybe if i could get a qd oled wirh 2000 nit brightness at 55 inches for under 1200 id switch. But switching for anything less isnt worth it imo.@ajajala5081

Nope, everyone should hold off and get Micro LED. Lower OLED and lower Mini LED sales will lead to pressure in rolling out affordable Micro LED a lot quicker.

Sheesh. Some of these TVs are more expensive than a PC.

They're just milking the transition to Micro LED, gotta keep selling those Mini LED and OLEDs.
Micro-led is absurdly difficult to manufacture. It'll always be cheaper to buy oleds and replace them vs micro led

I have a Hisense u8hand I love the pitcher quality . Great bang for the buck.
I have it too.
Yeah… except the magenta tinting is far from gone on the qd-oleds. The LG woleds are brighter and has far better blacks.
same with burn in, still a problem..

Do all QD-OLED monitors support DCI-P3?
The government should heavily subsidise Micro LED TVs so we all enjoy amazing picture quality for an affordable price
its crazy how much prices have come down in just 6 months
OLEDS are beautiful but their sizes are tiny for $$. MiniLEDs from Hisense & TCL are incredible for 85-115”
For 65-77 range the price is pretty similar at bigger sizes though yea
WOLED is my personal favorite has the best color contrast.

These tv are still so expensive for regular people. Very good video.❤
Samsung's micro led draw about 1kw and would say that's a big downside if you live in Europe

But i don’t get it there are cheaper miniled than oled on amazon for example
Mini LED and Micro LED are two separate things. Sorry, I realize this comment is 5 months old.
So for that price you could buy a house, divide it into high standard flats and rent them out, than mortgage one of the flats to pay for the TV 😅

QD-OLED blacks are not as blacks as either WOLED or MicroLED. It often has some low purple tint. Seen in brighter environments
He addresses this in the video, newer models have fixed this issue.
my monitor is not purple
I have S90D qd-oled, this is not an issue.
