    I live in Denver (zone 6) and I have managed to grow a pomegranate tree (cold hardy) outside in the ground!

      Hi Lakshmi. I would love to know what variety you have, if it has a name. That is amazing that you have been able to grow it. Has it survived this past (very cold) winter?

    That's amazing! Did you heat the greenhouse during the colder months?

      Thanks. I only intervened during this extreme cold blast we had of about 12 degrees below zero (-24 celsius) by using a space heater on low for a day or two. Otherwise I use a very low powered climate battery, which I outline here :

    That is amazing, what kind of soil would you recommend?

    • @TheIntegratedGarden

      Sorry for the late response! Pomegranates are very easy and don't mind a whole variety of soil types, as long as the soil is not overly wet and water-logged.

    Did you get any fruit last year? I've planted two Russian 26 varieties, and am building my greenhouse around them. I know it will be a few years before they fruit, but I'd really like an update on your pomegranate.

      Yes, we did! Eight of them. Amazing quality. Hope you do well with yours!

      @@TheIntegratedGarden that's exciting! I think if I can keep them alive through this first winter, they'll do okay.

    Hi, should I be able to grow a pomegranate tree in South Jersey?

    • @TheIntegratedGarden
      @TheIntegratedGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might be able to! Look for the hardiest pomegranate varieties! Should be a pretty quick web search.

      You can; North Jersey here. You can grow it a container against the house for extra protection from the winter winds. One green world has a lot of cold hardy pomegranate types.
