me too. I first heard them in 1988 when I was 15 years old. I was lucky enough to be able to see them in a very small venue with not more than 50 people in the audience . Was smitten from the start.
Lyrics I once slept with my arms around you My legs once bound you And I’d wake with my heart so full of you And then I found that this bed was poison That my life was frozen And I lay afraid of ever touching you Chorus I took my heart and lay it on the floor You took my hand and softly asked for more I once felt that keeping it sealed inside Would free me from the fear I hide Of ever losing you And then I found that the blooming All that reckoning Has lead me back to you Chorus I took my heart and lay it on the floor You took my hand and softly asked for more (Instrumental break - repeat verse chords) Now I sleep with my arms around (you) My limbs become you And I wake with my heart so full of you...
I have been so enthralled by her voice and the backing music since... before the birth of all. Never Never. I want her to be the last thing l ever HEAR and SEE. Music will truly die when sings no more!
I heard this on CBC Afterdark and it was the first time I've heard the band in a long time. Really good song! Especially when it comes on the radio right before midnight.
Very lovely. From the first time I heard a drum sound coming from "studio 547" and my brother-in-law to be revealed to me that it was a band named "Cowboy Junkies", I was determined to hear more. I eventually picked up my first album, "studio", which I love and planned one day to keep listening as long as you exist. I love the sound of your songs. Often, the lyrics too. Thanx
Hi Margo, Your new work is reminiscent of techie work I did in the 70s. I had access to a Sony 630 - D RXR on which you could add echo and sound-on-sound effects with the turn of a dial. I redesigned Helplessly Hoping and a few pieces from the White Album. It was done sensitively and with love, just like yours. One day I accidently recorded over the beautiful work. I have only my memories for redemption. Good an you, as Richard would say.Love,Walter
I listen to CJs for Margos vocals. Maybe those with different taste, or younger ears, enjoy that loud droning reverberating, wall & ear drum vibrating, BASS. I find it almost painful and can't understand why any sound engineer thinks that level of bass in a mix is a good thing. I have no desire to play with frequency control gadgetry anymore, just hit STOP.
I am the only one in my circle that likes them.
It is not easy to listen to, the sadness.
But I feel lucky to have been a CJ fan and always will
From the first time I heard Margo's voice (30 + years ago), I've been infatuated with Cowboy Junkies.
Irish music
She's a wonderful vocalist.
Tony Quintero, She has a distinct sound because she is a MTF.

Ditto... those first few notes of Mining for Gold changed my musical trajectory
Lyrics
I once slept with my arms around you
My legs once bound you
And I’d wake with my heart so full of you
And then I found that this bed was poison
That my life was frozen
And I lay afraid of ever touching you
Chorus
I took my heart and lay it on the floor
You took my hand and softly asked for more
I once felt that keeping it sealed inside
Would free me from the fear I hide
Of ever losing you
And then I found that the blooming
All that reckoning
Has lead me back to you
Chorus
I took my heart and lay it on the floor
You took my hand and softly asked for more
(Instrumental break - repeat verse chords)
Now I sleep with my arms around (you)
My limbs become you
And I wake with my heart so full of you...

This song...oh my god. Margot’s voice has haunted my soul since 1988.
Saw them at the Wiltern a LONG time ago, I was at a show there last night and the memory brought me here. Beautiful.
Oh my god this is pure magic I'm hooked on Margo once again. Why did I ever drift away from this beauty?

Oh. My. God. YOU.
After all these years, you hypnotize me, you make me beg for more.
Please. More.
I can't hardly wait to here the whole album!!
Beautiful song and music.
Totally brilliant. Many thanks for sharing online. Looking forward to getting the album
Fucking brilliant! REAL Music, they haven't lost a single thing!
Great to hear the group back in the absolute top form that gave us the mercurial Trinity Sessions album... A definite contender for album of the year.
a fan of 30 years your voice never sounded better margo
This was completely unexpected. Reminiscent of Miles from Home. Looking forward to getting the vinyl.

Sensational! “Poison” is the perfect word.
Margo, I have not seen you since SF, a while a go. Sounds great, voice as I remember. We are down the road. Play in Oregon if you\ will.
Whoa. This is great.
♥️
You can't listen to the Cowboy Junkies without Wild Turkey and a pack of smokes.Maybe it's just me
Not just you. Though for me its Gibson's finest rye and a good cigar
Wunderbar - amazing! Thank you from South-Tyrol! :)

I am so happy you are coming with new Songs and a tour. Do you visit Hamburg 2018?
14. November 2018 in der Kulturkirche Altona... :)
Not really a fan but this song is awesome.
Reminiscent of Ozium by Monster Magnet. Musically, if not sonically.
Very cool!!!
Reminds me of my relationship with America! I am an expat! Fuck me!
Is Yaro still with the band??
What kind of sorcery is this?
The images are perplexing.
