Former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was denied entry to the Jagannath Temple in Puri in 1984 because she was married to Feroze Gandhi, a Parsi. There is a practice in vogue in Kerala that all the male devotees are required to remove shirts while entering into temples. We have to abide by the rules of the temples.
