Well......You made my day.....It's been a long time since I heard this played on the guitar....since 1964 to be exact.......Thank you.......My Father would be thrilled.......It was his favorite......He wrote the lyrics at age 26.....
You might like the tune "Sitting Right Under The X In Texas" - I first heard it from Johnny Gimble,at a Playboys gig, then he recorded it, then Red recorded it and had a minor hit. Kind of the same theme tune...good luck to you from the Great Southwest.
!!! well, thank you so much! I have been searching for the sheets for years, and now I have a visual!! Same as you, I first heard this from the CSS'ers more then 30years ago!! da Prof ♬♬
Just delighted to find you doing this one, which I became acquainted with through that Red Nichols version that you mention. It does have a marvelous chord progression, which you negotiate so nicely -- and your voice suits the lyrics!
Beautiful! Thank you. I wish I could play as well as you. This song was mentioned in a 1979 biography of Jimmie Rodgers (although he never recorded it). It was a real pleasure to be able to listen to such a polished performance on guitar and with a pleasing vocal accompaniment.

Nice job. I think this tune should also be recorded by Leo Kot-Kot-Kottke.
