Hey I'm from Mexico born in the 90s and in my teenage years dark was a term still being used. But back then one could differentiate goths from darks and from emos, to say. I had dark friends and I started in the dark scene then went into goth. Nowadays I guess one could consider everything goth because it's too wide but I most say that in the past it was clear which one was which one. So basically darks only wore black, mostly leather boots, most were Satanists (not satanics), would wear inverted crosses and make up and would listen to dark electro and black metal.
