I’m a pastor in an Evangelical non-denominational church and my wife and I have had these same conversations over and over and have been scratching our heads since 2016 wondering, how did this happen. You have given us calm words without anger to help us describe it and how to have conversations with many of our parishioners. I appreciate your comment. It is my experience that sometimes one can be so close to an issue, they can't see it or understand what is really going on. I was once a member of a church in which leadership changed the bylaws/rules decreeing that those that were appointed as deacons could never be unappointed. In other words, they were appointed deacons for life. I know why this change was made (likely to protect someone who was not yet qualified but had a lot of influence-$$$). This change made me extremely uncomfortable due to things I felt were automatically disqualifying (i.e. abuse, crime, etc.). I was also disturbed with the fact that the church body did not have a say (no means of accountability) about this change.
      And that's just it...people in prominent positions are not likely to be held accountable while those without influence were publicly held to account. These sorts of actions are against what the Bible says and yet no one said anything out of fear or just blind trust.
      People don't read their Bible and that makes them vulnerable to those who say they are interpreting the word when many are distorting the word (for their personal means).

    • @justcasey5228
      @justcasey5228 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I think growing in wisdom and compassion as a follower of Christ really involves what Christ spoke of many times: eschewing the things of this world to take up our cross and follow him. And I think this is extremely difficult as US Americans because so much of our culture is built around amassing wealth, the pursuit of power (whether individually or collectively), believing the lie of our own exceptionalism. It’s a radical, counter-cultural thing to follow Christ. It’s hard. It involves a life-long dying to self (sanctification) and inoculating yourself against the pulls of this culture is near impossible (mainly because we have to exist here and running away to a deserted island isn’t an option. Lol). I struggle a lot with these things myself. But I also was blessed to have mentors in my life that preached these things. I have not heard much (if any) of this sort of counter-cultural, Christ-centered doctrine critiquing American culture from really any pulpits of late-even those that have a more historic theology of this thinking.

      I've been reading through the prophets and it's clear that God upheld the wrath of His Right Hand. God raised up Babylon to enact His wrath on the Israelites. They didn't want to believe it and killed the prophets. They wanted to believe a message of peace, when God did not say peace. Jesus said that He did not come to bring peace, but He would cause division among families. Just as the Pharisees believed Jesus would come riding on a horse as a warrior king to defeat Rome, these modern day Pharisees imagine the same peace and don't see it. That's not what we're told by God through His Word in the flesh.

Its about Race Money Power and Politics with most of these evangelicals. The church needs a True Reformation and Awakening. Yes, I’m deeply connected to the region as well, and many long and close relationships have been greatly strained. Tough times, and I suspect they’ll become tougher still. What’s also frustrating, is finding good Biblical teachings that aren’t “MAGA”, but the teacher STILL feels the occasional need to toss out a snarky partisan comment. It’s hard to find one who never does that. I guess they feel the need to troll for the approval of that large audience, even if they don’t want to depend on that content. But even if they don’t use it regularly, it’s enough to shift the whole tone.

    I actually heard a pastor say and I quote about Trump‘s being a convicted felon and I quote, we worship a convicted felon. We worship one. A conveniently forgot to say, though that Jesus was falsely accused. The apostle Paul taught us to endure persecution with grace as long as well not as long as Paul taught us if you’re being false if you’re being accused and it’s true, that’s not a good thing even if you bear it with patience. Donald Trump is not that person. Donald Trump is truly accused and convicted. I hate what’s happening to pastors. I respect and who I would otherwise listen to. But they’ve drunk so much Trump Kool-Aid that it’s hard to tell her which is gospel and which is well it’s not hard to tell which is it’s just that if I listen to those pastors for the good that they can teach me from the word. I also have to listen to the Kool-Aid. Billy Graham must be rolling over in his grave period to actually hear a pastor say Donald Trump‘s convictions and felonies are no big deal because we worship a convicted felon. Yes, Jesus was convicted of crimes, but let me stay forth with that he was not guilty. why aren’t pastors saying that? Can you imagine a pastor and Billy Graham promoting somebody like Trump? Only thing I can imagine God using this guy in a general way. Also, pastors seem impeccable of saying anything nice about Kamala Harris. She knows “her Bible. Trump won’t say what his favourite verses because he holds the Bible upside down obviously he doesn’t know it. He doesn’t know the Bible. He couldn’t even say John 316. during a speech at a church during the campaign,, Harris voted from the Bible quite well. She said that verse about loving justice and mercy and being walking humbly with our God. Sorry about the rambling. I’m dictating this into the iPhone and I’m not good at creating what feels like wrong answering machine messages. I can’t use the keyboard so I’m working with what I have. Anyway, I’m glad the comment section won’t be turned off. I was afraid you were going to say that. Anyway, please keep doing the good work. people are deconstructing all over the place. Turned off by smelly Maga and smelly old Donald Trump, smelly, apparently physically and morally, so Christians who were brought up in evangelical families have stopped not at deconstructing Trump, but deconstructing the Bible and it’s really disheartening. I guess well there’s no guessing God hates sin. I think mostly because of what it does to other people. I’m getting long winded so I’ll stop now. thanks for all the work you do.

I laughed at the description of the gaggle of false prophets spouting nonsense. Extra Biblical and New Thought influences have indeed radicalized believers. Prophet Blowhard Trumplebuck is perfect. You did George Orwell proud today. The wrong spirit is found in Dominionism. These false leaders are looking for sensation and platform. Yes, the NT advises us to have nothing to do with malice ... definition is enjoying watching someone suffer. As things progress, it will be swimming up stream to offer grace and purge malice from our souls. We all make mistakes, maybe thru kindness, love & compassion - MAGA will see where they are? ❤

    King David was flawed AND he engaged in serious repentance. He committed sins of passion, BUT he also was a genuinely religious and inspired man. Trump never repents of his many, many sins and he doesn't have a spiritual or truly ethical bone in his body. If a modern version of Nathan the prophet came and told Trump the parable of a rich man who, despite having countless flocks of his own, stole the one and only beloved lamb of a poor man, instead of declaring the rich man worthy of death, as David did, Trump would ask, "Did he vote for me?" or "How much did he give to my campaign?"

      Exactly this! What we are called to do does not change whether Christ returns tonight or 100 years from now. The important thing is that when He returns, He finds us faithful! No matter who is in the White House or whether democracy dies - as painful and tragic as it may be - our calling STILL remains the same. It may get harder to follow Him if the days grow any darker, but we must continue faithfully - until He returns or takes us Home.

    Mr. Kahnke. Thank you for this video. I watch your videos and have read your book. I wish I had the ability to say these things the way you say them. I have learned much from you, and look forward to learning more. Please continue in the vein you have been doing. If not, the diligence against trumpism will fade away and there will begin to be rationalizations. I know what you are saying and why you are saying it and warning about it. I get it. And agree that you have to do it from time to time. I feel the same way. But please do not stop these videos which help me keep a diligent resistance against Maga behavior and a diligent and growing love for God and humanity. I need to see others who feel like I do be able to articulate this because I live right in the middle of what I could call the hardest Maga community in America. I live in Texas and used to be hard core conservative Christian. But after Covid my wife and I could not even go to church anymore. But lately we have found a "liberal" church to go to and even this church is polarized to the point where I feel uncomfortable and get angry in my heart sometimes, looking for a way to confront it. And your channel helps me. So please continue.

    Thank you. About 20 years ago, i realized finally that some "christian" leaders were just full of baloney and not Scriptural. I ended up walking away from all of the programming i had watched. Yup, it creeps me out. God does reveal things to us, but i had not realized how weird it was to say "God showed me..." but He does. But it's not like i hear voices or that i have the gift of prophecy, but it is a type of conversation. Yes, i have heard people say things like you mention, and since i discovered that 90% is poppycock (for a more polite term) and for personal gain and notoriety, 😢it does creep me out. I get nauseated, honestly. I saw what it did to SOME of my friends. It ruined their walk and witness. They became ...like pinched faced... help me out here... their attitude and countance change from loving to angry and stingy... they lost their joyful love.
    This is very good advice. I think he definitely is an antichrist like the others mentioned in the NT. He could be "the antichrist," or a type of what might come, but the focus needs to be on our commission as you say. I want to just discuss these matters so i don't go down a dumb rabbit hole in my thoughts. I am getting way too concerned, though i know Jesus said not to. I am finding that to be, i guess, the next big lesson to internalize before i leave here... I pray! This helps me with some of that craziness. I, too, thought for a time that trump supporters could not be Biblical Christians, but the Lord made sure that i learned that i was very wrong! I do think some really are, but the ones i know, who have not lost their love and ferver, are victims of misinformation... but they honestly believe i am! The only thing we can do is keep living Biblical Christianity ourselves, and that especially means sharing the Gospel in Word and Deed, and not getting caught up in controversy. The Bible says not to. I appreciate that you helped me clarify some of this, too. Thank you so much! Blessings ❤🙌
