    Back when line 3 was so fast. Now it’s only top speed has been reduced to 40kph from 60kph when this video was taken.

    • @TomSrc
      @TomSrc 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They reduced it because of the low maintainance work on the trains, most of the trains have severly damage boogies and connecters, because of mow much people ride it every day

    • @Burgercat
      @Burgercat 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      its actually 65 kph

    • @TomSrc
      @TomSrc 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kmph is not a big difference

      As of November 2018, the DOTr MRT-3 implemented new speed limits for the MRT-3;
      10-15kph when the train approaches rail switches and when passing through Guadalupe Bridge
      25-30kph after passing through rail switches, maximum speed for the mainline
      40kph on Cubao-Santolan and Santolan-Cubao segments.

      @@philippineassociationofrai8305 When new tracks are already placed in MRT-3, I hope it will be back to 60kph again. That's why MRT-3 undergoes rehabilitation.

  • @TomSrc

    This was the time when the MRT was maintained well be the Sumitimo company

    • @philippineassociationofrai8305
      @philippineassociationofrai8305 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Correction its Sumitomo, not Sumitimo. Sumitomo Corporation together with its technical partner Mitsubishi Heavy Industries designed, built, testing/commisioning of the trains, and maintained the MRT-3 system from 1997 to 1999 during its construction period, and 1999 to 2012 on its operation period. MRT-3 is owned by a private conglomerate named Metro Rail Transit Corporation or MRTC, and is subjected to maintain the MRT-3 system. MRTC and DOTC agreed on a BLT Agreement or "Build-Lease-Transfer"; MRTC will build the system, DOTC will lease or pay money to MRTC for 25 years, and transferring the system to the DOTC (which is the currently DOTr today) because the agreement will end on thr year 2025 and DOTr is now the owner of the system.
      MRT-3 fan here that's why I know most of the history and background of MRT hehe😃

      Well it is sad they are not maintaining as well as before when they left even if they thaught the filipinos they are still not doing it right, also i wonder why they built a light rail on the most popular road in the whole of philippines, it is obvious that people are going to use it a lot!

    • @philippineassociationofrai8305
      @philippineassociationofrai8305 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TomSrc Correct and that's the question of most rail experts asks. MRT-3 is just designed for 250,000 to 300,000 passengers daily, while today it serves 450,000 to 600,000 passengers per day so it means that the system cannot handle it anymore unless further upgrades are being applied. MRT-3 is built so the car owners don't use their vehicles and use the MRT instead. But its owner Metro Rail Transit Corporation didn't expect that their system will be used by a large amount of passengers. My father works on the MRTC and I know some of the informations they don't actually tell to the public.

    there's stored value ticket but most people would prefer single journey ticket. Manila's mrt is widely used by low income earners. reason why road traffic here is hell. almost everyone uses his car everyday.

    Street level LRT was waiting an inordinately long time at the platform with no public announcement, although seemed clean and fast, no through ticketing, shocking, something taken for granted in other world metropolises, no guards on the platform checking for overcrowding, an obvious health & safety oversight.
