At first you have to choose the correct size for a particular widget. Like 2×2 or 4×4 etc and then resize them on the home screen. After than click on them choose your widget set the background color to match wallpaper and save. You're done now.

I'm having issues with mine, when I add a widget it makes it super tiny and when I try to resize it, it doesn't change on the actual homescreen
U have to click on save when u are editing it on the kwgt app

Click on the widget and u will go to the settings page. There, click on globals on the toolbar and then change the color as per ur wish

KWGT can't put widgets in the notification panel. It would only be on your home screen.
