Tyson Fury's legacy, it makes me laugh when SJ keeps bringing it up. He has only ever had 4 title defences. It's embarrassing that someone with that low number of title defences should be mentioned in terms of legacy
Well George Foreman was never the actual champion very long and never really defended his titles either, he fought way better opponents though and has a knockout record and is the oldest champion in heavyweight history. Fury doesn’t have any of this to fall on , he’s got the worst title defenses of all time actually, Chisora,Whyte and Ngganou wasn’t even fur the title and I’m not even counting Wilder bc he fought him 3 times like Chisora absolutely abysmal .
@@UncleTermite when I put title defences I meant title defence fights, not actual victories..my poor wording. So included the first fight with Usyk even though he lost. Hense the number 4. Can't disagree with anything you have said
Nelson is calling it best. Usyk vs Fury2, Fury is there to survive and not get knocked out. He put on weight to resist punches and be able to stand his ground. Everything he did was to 'stay put', not let Usyk hit him too many times, he punches only to keep Usyk off of him. His movement was to avoid being hit (as much). he was there to drop in place like a Keep and withstand 12 rds of being beseiged, which he did. Which is a kind of 'moral victory' I suppose. but he was there to survive and NOT look bad.
Of all the things (and there’s plenty) there are that pisses you off about Fury - his repeated retirements that lead to nonsensical hypothetical debates like this must top the list.
Floyd Patterson, Sonny Liston, Marciano, Joe Frazier, Archie Moore, Foreman, Ali, Spinks, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Wlad Klitschko, Tyson Fury and Usyk. Just some of the heavyweight legends that have won the Ring Magazine heavyweight championship.
I’m a big fan of Michael Spinks, what a fighter. One of the greatest to ever do. Olympic Gold Medalist, Undisputed Light Heavyweight Champion, Lineal Ring Magazine & IBF Heavyweight Champion. Moved up from Light Heavyweight & beat an undefeated Holmes twice, destroying 6.7” hard hitting Gerry Cooney & destroyed Tangstad the European heavyweight champion. He only ever lost to Peak Mike Tyson.
I am sick to my back teeth about people talking about a win over a 40 year old klitchko and thinking that makes fury a generational great 🤔 He isnt even close to being a great of this era, my god these people are weird AF. Just stop with gassing this fraud of a fighter up.
Wilder avoided Wald like the plague and didn't bother unifying with Parker. Stop believing the shite Fury spews. Wilder went life and death with Ortiz and admitted he turned down millions to fight AJ. Fury scraped past a near 40 year old Wlad, fought Chisora for a third time pointlessly, Scraped by Ngannou, Wallin etc.
I ran away from home once and I got as far as our next door neighbour's house and I had to watch my mother and my grandmother laughing at me on my way back home and I wasn't even wearing a Dick Turpin mask.

Real talk…what’s the cut off in eras? Fury v Moses? AJ v Moses? There has to be a point where a generational guy has a few fights left but it’s not against the guy with 10 and 0 on their record…right? Where is the line?
The line is down to the promoters and fighters. It's too early for Moses tho, not saying he doesn't have a chance, it's just more of a risk v reward this early in his career.

@Crsigox001 Agreed. It is also a bit difficult to rate him as a great when the only great fighter he faced beat him twice. Wlad was of his time but barely got involved in the fight. Wilder has NEVER been a great. He was only ever dangerous.
