I like Johnny Nelson. He tells it as it is, and doesn’t pander to any bias. However, I disagree that Fury would have won the first fight had he brought the intensity he displayed in the second fight, because again, this wholly ignores the genius of Usyk. No version of Tyson Fury beats Usyk.

Tyson Fury's legacy, it makes me laugh when SJ keeps bringing it up. He has only ever had 4 title defences. It's embarrassing that someone with that low number of title defences should be mentioned in terms of legacy

Well George Foreman was never the actual champion very long and never really defended his titles either, he fought way better opponents though and has a knockout record and is the oldest champion in heavyweight history. Fury doesn’t have any of this to fall on , he’s got the worst title defenses of all time actually, Chisora,Whyte and Ngganou wasn’t even fur the title and I’m not even counting Wilder bc he fought him 3 times like Chisora absolutely abysmal .

@@UncleTermite when I put title defences I meant title defence fights, not actual victories..my poor wording. So included the first fight with Usyk even though he lost. Hense the number 4. Can't disagree with anything you have said

Nelson is calling it best. Usyk vs Fury2, Fury is there to survive and not get knocked out. He put on weight to resist punches and be able to stand his ground. Everything he did was to 'stay put', not let Usyk hit him too many times, he punches only to keep Usyk off of him. His movement was to avoid being hit (as much). he was there to drop in place like a Keep and withstand 12 rds of being beseiged, which he did. Which is a kind of 'moral victory' I suppose. but he was there to survive and NOT look bad.

Wilder went life and death with Ortiz and admitted he turned down millions to fight AJ. Let’s be really clear about Fury. The guy completely dominated Wlad in his back yard when no one believed in him. Wlad was off that night. Waaaay off. And for sure I believe Wlad would have ripped those belts back from Fury in the rematch. BUT…Fury still did that! Then he retired to avoid a drug ban. Did his Undertaker thing in Wilder 1 and completely destroyed Wilder in the second bout. So exciting!!! So much drama. However, essentially Fury beat Wlad. Gave up his belts. Beat Wilder. Made 3 WBC defenses which was Wilder, Whyte and Chisora (3). Got beat twice (three times if you include the MMA guy). Has retired six time. That’s it. Not a good look for induction to the boxing hall of fame.

Then Parker beats a 41 yr old zhang getting decked twice but winning on points. Before these two fights Parker fought Simon Kean. How these three fights prepared Parker for Dubois I’ll never know. They’re talking a good fight anyway. But everyone does don’t they. I think it’ll be a good fight while it lasts. But Dubois within 4 is my pick.

I think fury is exactly the same fury that went into wilder 2. Usyk just simply has more tools than 1 trick pony wilder. Fury had to think more & he was beaten. His record isn’t ATG worthy. Klitschko was 40 years old & they talk like he beat a peak vlad. In the same breath they insinuate fury at 35 is maybe past it. 🤷 klitschko was 5 years older than fury is now & 66-67 fights into his career. Fury’s only had 37 fights. That’s the same amount of fights Mike Tyson had at 24 years old. Mike Tyson by that point had 10 defences of his titles. Youngest heavyweight champion in history, first to unify all 3 major championships, lineal & undisputed champion ‘something fury never achieved’. I think today they hand out greatness way too easily.
