Keeper Talk - Maned Wolves

In this video Matt is catching up with Cindy to talk about our maned wolf.
These amazing animals having evolved to live in high grass habitats, they have a thick red coat, long legs and tall pointy ears. Maned wolves are the largest canid of South America, looking more like a long-legged fox than a wolf. Genetic studies show, however, that they are neither foxs nor true wolves, but a separate species. It is the only member of its genus, Chrysocyon.

Gorgeous animals ! I remember seeing the youngsters years ago, they seemed more active when the female had the pups. You can smell them a mile away 🤣🤣
