Barker is a phenomenal drummer, no question, but in a live setting, a band like Dimmu benefits more from someone who has the technical proficiency AND a certain level of finesse/emotion/variety. Barker’s drumming, while practically flawless, always came off a little mechanical and stiff when playing live with Dimmu, and some of their more grand/orchestral-centric songs lacked that human touch.

He is boring in the sense that he doesn't bring anything new to the table, sure they play the song a bit faster. But he leaves out SO MUCH that Nicholas Barker put in. He takes stuff out, but doesn't put anything new in. Which in turn, makes him a bit boring. He just plays it straight forward.
I honestly don't think you guys know what you're talking about. This guy shows off some fucking mean talent in this video that you guys wish you could do. But I do agree that he's playing it straight forward. Although Hellhammer is, and always will be Dimmu's best drummer \m/

This song is not the same without Vortex at the clean vocals. And BTW, Nick Barker is the best drummer they ever had.
That was Tjudalv who currently drums for Susperia. Yes he was at his best in this album, but Barker is way better in technique and accuracy.
