    1.47-2.22 - President and "leader" of fascist Slovak state (March 14, 1939-April/May 1945) and priest Jozef Tiso is giving a speech in front of the new class of graduates of Slovak Military Academy (probably in the capital of Bratislava/Pressburg). General of the Slovak Army Čatloš seems to be shown at 1:56 before the camera focuses on the German generality and Slovak generality and Slovak graduates in turns. The next scene seem to be the poglavnik/leader of NDH (Neodvisna Država Hrvatska/Independent State of Croatia) Ante Pavelić visiting his troops and marching through the city of what seems to be a German generals visiting Croatia. Next scene depicts some bombing of occupied French territory by allied bombers. (3:38-4:51)

    A completely awful year for Germany & the Germans. One young girl here looked very sad. Probably because someone she'd been close to had been killed, possibly at Stalingrad, along with 500,000 of his comrades....

      +Declan Renault Lot of the soldiers shown here are not regular German soldiers, volunteer outfits from other European countries (Notice the soldiers in the beginning) ;I have see German films with Spanish and French dialog for viewing from supporters there, as well as propaganda value.

      +rampking1 A lot of these captured by the Allies, were from the VICHY FRENCH... the Germans used to have their newsreels translated into French, and played to the many French Collaboration forces, like the Milice...

    • @rampking1
      @rampking1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there was always the 33rd Waffen SS division from France. Yea, even before the war the Germans used film as form of intimidation for foreign consumption. No, I'm not following around, just a coincidence ! Hahaha

      In February 1989, two years before the fall of the Soviet Union, a research paper by Georgian historian Roy Aleksandrovich Medvedev published in the weekly tabloid Argumenti i Fakti estimated that the death toll directly attributable to Stalin’s rule amounted to some 20 million lives (on top of the estimated 20 million Soviet troops and civilians who perished in the Second World War), for a total tally of 40 million.
