  • I've had this mower for several years now and this is the second time the drive belt needed replace. The first time I had some guy try and tell me it was something major and that the hydro stat was out. If anyone tells you that please check your drive belt! Much easier and cheaper fix if it's a drive belt and you can do it yourself. Who knows, some of these asshats will tell you it's the hydro stat, charge you a shit load and just change the drive belt. beware of scams! Anyways here is how to change the drive belt. These links are for parts for a rzt 50" cub cadet.

    Just a little tip. If you take your belt off and go to an auto parts store, a new guy will grab down this slide rule looking thing and make up a part number that fits. The old guy in the store will hit it with a tape measure and get you the exact belt.
    I was in tractor supply this morning for this project and couldn’t find it by the part number so I looked up the pn, got the 1/2 X 57 and picked up a blue belt for $20.

    I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

    These are pretty easy and fast to install, just check pulleys for small rocks stuck in the grove

    My 50" Cub Cadet drive belt went out this Spring. Fortunately my dealer had the belt but as always you pay dearly for the part. Haven't put in on yet, thanks for this video and all the tips.

      If changing the belt out doesn't fix your problem it might be the hydro fluid needs changed. I just hit 333 hours on mine and just did my first one. it's moving around better now!! :)

    I've had to replace mine twice. Never had to remove the clutch, you just use a screwdriver to bend the metal stopper away enough to slide the belt off, then bend the stopper back into place. No unhooking the electrical clip, no air tools. Super simple. Also a tip to replace the spring, hook a bit of aircraft cable through the little hole in the frame to the end of the spring, then use vise grips to pull the wire and hook the spring on its mount. Kudos to SilentKnightSaga for this tip. Here's the link to the video: th-cam.com/video/FrC3xAttEno/w-d-xo.html

    How do you adjust the tensioner pully cuz now mine won't start after replacing and I'm being told the belt is too tight

    • @thatslumlordlife
      @thatslumlordlife  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think its adjusted. It's just applies tention. If its too tight the belt is too small. This belt was hard for me to get the right size. I put the one i found in the link. (If same mower)

      sorry, i'm just seeing this. it's been a week so i'm sure you figured it out by now, their might be a slot for it to slide off in. twist it left and right and see if it moves and will come down.

    Have you managed to correct all the tenant damage on the properties? Also will you be finishing the meth-house before the weather gets real cold?

    • @thatslumlordlife
      @thatslumlordlife  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I having some issues that I'm trying to work out! haha The meth house I don't have funds for and my sister letting people get behind on rents made it worse. When I purchased the meth house I had 10 grand saved up for it and then spent in on this house and shop for down payment and been having problems saving since! :( lol I just had the people in one of our apartments evicted and it needs remodeled too so it's staying empty. Debating on scraping the meth house even though i was looking forward to doing it and doing the apartment that came empty. Right now I can't do too much with anything that needs money!
      I'll be deciding sometime soon on if I'm going to tear the meth house down or not since i'm sure the city will start complaining. I'm now thinking about tearing it down and in a few years moving a mfh there. It will end up being cheaper too.

      These things rarely go to plan... Hopefully you can get some of them earning again very soon and build from there. Good luck. Is Philippines now over and done with or do you plan to go back?

    • @thatslumlordlife

      Check for a leaking seal. If the fluid is low in the hydro stat, fill it up. If it starts working that is the problem. If it stops again during mowing or next time you mow check again and that will tell if it has a leak. I ended up having the seal around the parking break caliper leaking. Took me awhile to figure it out.
