- So.... I went to a vintage doll show and filmed a little bit of it.
It was my first visit to a doll show since before covid, the first of 2022 and the first time filming at one of these shows - so I know I could do better camera work wise, but I was trying so hard to only get the stalls and the stall goodies! Im sure the dolls love the attention but I know the majority of people won't want to be filmed.
I do a lot of doll shopping at various places, not only for myself but also for the Dollorium online shop, and during the time in lockdown when all the dolls shows were cancelled and the shops were shut - I found myself enjoying other peoples footage on TH-cam so, I decided that when I could, I would try to film some of the lovely things I come across for everyone to enjoy on the channel, because not everybody can visit shows or shops like this...

I still have my Teddy from childhood when Our family spent time in Poland visiting family. 1975. He still makes noise when I tip him over.

Oh you are welcome! Im glad you enjoyed it... I just love these kind of fairs so much and even though I did three maybe four laps of the stalls because theres just so much to take in I've found myself spotting things in the video that I even missed on the day!! Going to have to keep my eyes peeled at future events. My collection might need a few of the things I've missed... eek.

Oh what a great show. I would have loved to go. I don't collect vintage dolls but they have a charm. I have a few vintage Sindys but that's about it! I love teddy bears. I have some modern artists bears and a few Steiff. I used to go to Teddys show. I have stopped buying bears but I love to go just to look at them. The teddy show I used to go to did not happen in the last 2 years unfortunately. I missed it.

Well I'm very pleased you did! Thanks for the comment and for stopping by. Dolls were the first thing I began to collect but they have gotten older and older in age than when I first began collecting. I used to collect bears too, I even tried my hand at making them but I haven't done that in such a long time. I still have my bear collections and love them but I haven't added any new ones for such a long time, they are mainly modern artist bears I have, a couple Beans Bruins' and Olga Schlegel's and Ive owned a few other types in the past but sold them. Ive even had a few Charlie Bears too. I think Teddies and dolls go hand in hand wonderfully. They are so tempting.... I love to see them too when I go to shows!
I have stopped adopting bears too unless I find them in boot sales very cheap (I have found a Steiff dog for 50 pence a few years ago. It is a pug made in alpaca and he was like new. It was a shock! I could not believe nobody bought him before me. I did not find him early in the boot sale and he is not especially small. The Steiff tag was quite visible too. Go figure! Well, it is not a bear but he is really cool! Lol). I have 3 Charlie bears but plushies not mohair, one was found in a charity shop years ago. The others are artists bears or ordinary plushies I find cute. I still have my bears collection. I am not sure I could part with any of them. I made a bear too a long time ago. I do love bears but I did not want my collection to become too big.
Dolls are another matter... I find so many great ones for ridiculous prices in boot sales, I got carried away. I am having a clear out at the moment and I am trying to reorganise everything. I have too many dolls for my space. I will be very selective in boot sales this year. I generally collect very modern dolls. It is really MH dolls that made me become a "proper" doll collector. Luckily, I missed the RH bandwagon despite the craze! I only have a few. I see so many collectors on TH-cam who already have nearly or more than 100 of them! It is hard to resist them because somehow the craziness about them influences my judgement! Everybody is so obsessed with them that I feel odd not to be if you see what I mean! Patience, they will turn up in charity shops and boot sales at some point... 😉😏
