It's much easier to just use a favorite preset that is already there from the start. Hard limit to -0.1 db. One step! (this is what that preset is for). Also, why are you converting it to stereo that isn't really stereo? (Left and right are identical).
This can be done in two steps that can be recorded as a single favorite and won't overwrite the favorites you already have saved. Start recording a new favorite. Convert the sample type (Under Edit Menu) to "same as source" for everything except for mono/stereo, where you select mono. There's 100% no reason to have a mono file as a stereo one. None. Next, use the speech volume leveler (Under Effects Menu - Amplitude and Compression). Stop recording the favorite and save it as any name you like.
how do i use it? it gives me an xml file, but then what? can you do a video on the process of integrating it into audition from downloading it so I know how to do it?
Hey Ali, The file is actually "application settings" from my Audition. So you would open Audition, go to File>Import>Application Settings. The downside of this method is that you may lose some of your custom application settings if you have any.

I've imported the application settings but for whatever reason I do not think they apply as Compress/Split is not in my favorites drop down menu.
