I'd play a TF2-Doom single player campaign with Soldier killing demon hippies to rescue old Sun Tzu.
The Doom guy is SAXTON HAAAAAAAAAALE who has been called to save Mann Co from Hippies who have slipped thru a portal from hippieland, and its his job to set a stop for all these damn hippies.

The idea for the original Team fortress quake mod actually came from a map from doom. So this is pretty nice to have as a remix.
What Doom map exactly?
Butterfly Effect: Some guy got inspired by a map in doom. He then created a mod for quake. Valve hired him to create TFC. They then made team fortress 2, causes millions of people to play the game.

Does "At the Fortress' Gates" sound better than "At Fortress' Gates"? If you'd ask me, I think the former title is better, grammatical correction and/or error aside. I'd think a DOOM-style shooter involving Soldier shredding through robot hordes (or undead hordes if Halloween and Merasmus are involved) like Doomguy shredding through demon hordes sounds like an interesting spin-off premise. Would the other Mercs be playable or should be restricted to only the offensive classes with Soldier being the head of the trio and the character you start the game with? Or should only soldier be playable?

@@opusmagnus26 really depends, us a reliable character like soldier, have a more and run playstyle with scout, or be the demon like pyro.
@@DownpourIsHereFR Makes sense for Soldier being the reliable one as he's the class that first-time players most likely would go for first to try to get the hang of TF2 while the Scout, the game's fastest class, would have more of an emphasis of run and gun in reference to his hit-and-run playstyle, but then there's the Pyro... Would he be an original demon or be a purely pyromancer Archvile with hints of other demons here and there into the mix? I've got no idea for Pyro really.
@@opusmagnus26 pyro would be a hard mode of sorts. With a weapon limit, but has more stuff from glory kills, and he has a special voice line of which is a muffled version of "burn in hell".

I actually played this over a TF2 Zombies Server once while playing what I like to call "Doom Guy Soldier"
The Doom Guy Soldier (T.D.G.S.) load out consists of
Cow Mangler [BFG 9000]
Shotgun [......Shotgun]
Escape Plan [In case you need to run away to get more health]
I did this load out with 2 other friends, one of them being Gunslinger/Pomson Engineer, and the other being another T.D.G.S.
We actually lasted pretty long, with us making our final stand on top of Sniper's camper van, with the other T.D.G.S. going down first by standing on the hood of the van rather than the roof. Then the Engineer went down, as got hit by a zombie and then shot by his sentry. Then, right as they started getting on top of the roof, I pulled out the Escape Plan and did the taunt kill with it, blowing up myself and the nearby zombies with me.
We lost that round.
I'm surprised you didn't use "The Original." Ik it's not DooM related, but you hold it DooM style, so yeah.
It's technically DOOM related, since Quake is basically DOOM but 3D. And better.

@@Epicgamer-sv5sv Some of them are not. But zombies are stronger, like Heavy zombies is a bulletsponge and can heal himself, Spy Zombies can go invis, Pyroes can fly with the thruster... etc.

This is my chainsaw. She revs at around 4000 demons per minute and rips out flesh for more bullets for my arsenal.
8 gauge shells for both shotguns. Also the Crucible sword is made out of Argent energy if I remember correctly.

One of the fondest memories of Doom: Moving your character so that the enemy took damage from crossfire causing them to turn on each other instead of attacking you, then mopping up the remains.
I even made a level using DEU (Doom Editor Utilities) where the only realistic way to survive was to do that.
