Thanks for posing this video. I'm a licensed cosmetologist and I love heat training natural hair. I even wrote a book about it. People are so afraid of using heat. My hair is heat trained and is so healthy. There is no need to relax in 2024.
Where can I purchase the book. It’s not on your website that’s link to your channel?
I would like to purchase it as well
Although, I am a natural, I am not straight natural , but I would straighten it one a month in the winter and kinky in the summer.
My hair is heat trained because i wear hijab and it is easier to wear it on straight hair than on a load of curls i would look like an alian😂😂😂
@@djamilach-lj5zq me too
I love that more heat trained ladies are coming out on TH-cam. Your hair is beautiful.
Thanks soo much ! I love being a straight natural
I’m a wash and go natural, no plans to go straight because it doesn’t suit my lifestyle but your hair is beautiful and I wish you healthy long hair.
Thank you !!
Even though we say the hair is heat damaged, yours looks really healthy! Would love to see your regimen on how you take care of it. :)
Thank you! I try to at least deep condition every month and I only apply heat once after the initial flat iron and that’s to curl it. I will definitely look into doing a regimen video. Thanks for watching !
Because damaged hair is hair that is breaking, thinning, splitting and falling out. I think curl damage or curl loosening is a term that describes it better.
I am here with you and you have my support. I am heat trained or straight natural. I blow dry every 2 weeks and get a silk press every 8 weeks. I'm so sick and tired of the curly girls thinking how hair is damaged because our texture is changing. BTW love your video❤
Thanks so much !
It is.
It’s literally damage though. It might not be damaged enough to break off but any change to the structure of your hair is damage. Heat slowly destroys the natural bonds in your hair. If it works for you it’s fine though, it could be a controlled damage.
I agree. I get it 😂 went from big chop in 2012 to locs in 2014 then to straight natural in 2022. Its been a beautiful journey ❤
So thick and beautiful! I'm all for natural options, sis. I just straightened mine today because it's winter where I live (SA) and I can't have a wet scalp in these streets.
Your hair is pretty and looks so healthy
We going hard period❣️💯 motivation gurrlll💆🏾♀️💁🏾♀️
The straight hair looks elegant, that's the word😅😊
Ok, I totally agree that straight hair looks sleeker. I’m an African American, and I am am HR Manager, and I too love our natural coils/curls, but…. sometimes some of “Us” don’t properly maintain our natural curls, like I’ve literally seen ladies come to work with dry, brittle, matted hair, or individual plats/braids sticking up, or the same braided style in for like 3 months but crusty from product build-up etc…..
Your hair looks great!😍 I just told my hairdresser that I love my hair straight haha! I’m rocking a side part right now and will eventually switch to a middle part🥰 I’ve been wearing my hair straight for 2 years now and it surprisingly isn’t heat damaged. I use flexi rods and only touch it up once a week! However, I’m not scared of heat damage either. I don’t wear my hair curly often anyways.
Yesssss same, it’s like a new era! To be natural so that we don’t have to really damage our hair with chemicals but we still have the ability to wear our hair straight. It’s amazing! Thank youuu !
@@mykeriazhana Exactly!💗💗🙌🏾
I'm here as one of those maturals who would have come for you. However, unexpected health circumstances mean becoming a straight nstural is one of the only options for me going forward.
It's easy to judge, and yet no one s hould have to justify something like this. There are more important things in life like good health! You look amazing!
Wishing you good physical health and good hair health.
Loved this. You should do more videos on straight natural, like your hair routine
Yay I’m glad you liked it, I definitely will. Thanks for watching
I love this video. It's so timely. I prefer wearing my hair straight but don't wanna go back to relaxer. I live in the Caribbean so it's like summer all year. Any suggestions for a workable routine? I saw someone say blow-dry bi monthly and silk press 1x monthly
Definitely try to minimize the heat as much as possible, I know it’s hard to do in the hotter months but protective styling also helps during that time and thank you for watching !
Your hair is absolutely beautiful!
Thanks so much !
Love this video! I have been a straight hair natural since 2017 and it has helped me to retain length big time. I think I might do a video on my channel as well.
Thank you ! Being a straight natural is def a game changer
Love this and I’m here for it…
Thanks so much, glad you liked it
you're so beautiful! i love the way you part your hair
Thanks so much !
I've been natural since 2012....i just became a straight natural Oct 2023....i only use heat when i wash my hair every 2-3 weeks.... sometimes i blow dry and throw it in a top bun if i don't feel like flat ironing
Yup this is me to a tee. Today Sunday I had time to blow out and flat iron but. Next time I may only blow it out.
Hair maintenance wise, do you go gym, swim or exercise? As how do you avoid the sweat not messing up your hair?
I have been thinking about heat training, but I live in the deep south. My hair will pouf up the min I go outside. 🥵🤦🏾♀️
lol yup it definitely will. I live in the south as well but once you it straighten often, your ends will become heat trained and will remain intact. it’s the roots that will continue to frizz but nothing a hot comb couldnt fix
@@mykeriazhana This is what i think about, especially in the warmer weather, or if I sweat, my roots will def poof, and I was thinking I'd have to either blow the roots or hot comb it to keep it straight in between silk presses.
Your hair looks good! Im in Florida and Im scared once that humidity kicks in😭
Try using a smoothing/ anti-frizz shampoo, a very moisturizing deep condition, a spray leave in conditioner with keratin and an anti humidity serum/ heat protectant.
Do you have an exercise or workout routine with your straight hair? If so, how do you maintain your hair?
Hey! I actually don’t workout but I have seen others use a blow dryer right after
@@mykeriazhana Ok, thanks. Take care of your heart. Exercise is important.
Btw you are very beautiful.
I just started my heat trained journey I love it .I'm here to support love your videos.
What are some of the products you use ?
What tips do you have for length Retention?
Thank you so much ! I will definitely do a video of products I use and my regimen
Does your hair shed a lot when straight? Mine does, why could that be😢? And don’t you oil your hair while straight? And how do you deal with dry scalp, my scalp tends to be extra dry when my hair is straight. I am natural, I have 4c.
the longest my hair has ever been was when i was getting blow outs once a month. down my back.
Hiyaa,
I can never seem to get my hair flat straight like yours, my hair seems to be flow everywhere and stick up.
I wash with clarifying then moisture shampoo. I deep condition.
Then i use a very small amount of the redken anti-break leave-in, colour wow dream coat (for humidity) and heat protectant, before blow out. Then chi silk when straightening.
I even bought a new straightener, and the double sided boar brush 🥲
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Any tips would to appreciated!
Do you loose less hair when your hair is straight? Like compared to the detangling natural hair on a regular basis or is shedding about the same?
Im trying to become straight natural but this humidity
Do you clarify hair? How often should I clarify my hair? What clarify shampoo do you recommend?
Thanks for sharing
I would love to heat train my hair but I am not good at flat ironing. I can’t flat iron to save my life.
Use the Tymo ring straightener it's better than the flat iron, look it up on youtube .(Tymo ring straightener on natural hair.) I
I’m confused…COVID wasn’t a thing last year, 2023
I cut my hair during Covid not last year
I went to being a straight natural last year. Prior I was just wearing my curls
Covid was still happening in 2023? Did she mean 2020?
I cut my hair during Covid but I transitioned into a straight natural in 2023
