Cedar Point had a coaster named the “Jumbo Jet” many, many years ago. This coaster reminds me so much of it. The train and track layout are so very similar. Deja Vu, if you ask me! Peace.
I remember this when it was called the Glissade at Busch Gardens, VA. It was the biggest roller coaster I'd seen in my life (I was only about 5 years old), and its crazy twisted shape haunted my dreams. Was so glad the Glissade was still there in the early 80s when I came back to Busch Gardens as a teenager. So I finally got to ride it and enjoy it and have "closure" with it. Thanks for this upload!
I've looked for so lon for this ride. Bluegrass Fair 1995-1999 maybe. I remember this ride where you were in these Tobagons. No seatbelt and it had this REALLY cool stell jungle gym feel to it. Ours didn't have a spiral lift. It was straight up. Across a "dip" in the track and THEN into this layout.
I always wondered if Schwarzkoph knew of, saw, or rode any of the old Traver coasters? Harry would have LOVED these designs , that is if he had pride in his own work!
The ride really wasn't that fast, but it was built in the early '70s, when new-technology roller coaster design was just starting to take off. In its time, we enjoyed the thrill of the suspense as our train corkscrewed up to the top of that first hill.
They used to have one of these at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. It was called the Jumbo Jet there and it was one of my favorites. Not sure where it ended up though.
Schwarzkopf knew his skills and avoided old mistakes... But Werner Stengel was able to utilise modern engineering to solve the problems Traver and other pioneers had, while Schwarzkopf had the equipment and the people to turn Stengel's theory into reality making GOOD (For the Arrow Fanboys) modern coasters possible and for us to enjoy.

Había uno igual en la Feria de Chapultepec en los años 90, justo donde luego colocaron el juego que descarriló y por el cual clausuraron la Feria.

This coaster used to be called Glissade in Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA before it was sold to this park shown in the video.
I used to work on this ride at Busch Gardens it’s last two years!
This would probably make a great dark ride!
Nightmare at Crack Axle Canyon was a Jet Star 1
Me encanta, aparte de que en esta atracción no llevas ningún amarre vas ahí solo sentado en el carrito sin ninguna protección
😂
Por lo mismo lo cerraron

This park is like a time machine to the late 70s, early 80s.
1975 to be exact (BG in Williamsburg)

NY's CONEY ISLAND had one of these for decades

Is the ride quicker in real life than on the film? I'm not criticising, just wondering.
