    How does the plastic cover attach to the metal bumper

    • @JUSTTRYITDIY
      @JUSTTRYITDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't change the factory attachment to the steel underneath. should just be some OEM bolts/screws to the steel.

    I got a free TJ bumper. Trying to sell but no bites. Wonder if I can match up to my JT???

    will the rear bumper mount same way you did the front bumper.. using a TJ rear bumper as an inner mount plate to bolt the JK bumper too?

    • @JUSTTRYITDIY
      @JUSTTRYITDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      the JK bumper is COMPLETLY different. we went with an aftermarket bumper for the rear

    I would like to have seen the metal part put on and bolted before the plastic was put on.

      at about the 2 minute mark when I have the metal part of the bumper sitting on the frame is what it looks like I did have to drill new holes in the JK bumper to get it to be on. but the crush points on the jk bumper lined up to the frame on the TJ. hope this helps. the fog lights were a very tight fit but it did work.

      Thank you! I’m in the process of doing this now. But thought about welding it to the tj frame.

      I think either way would work. Good luck with your project and thanks for watching 👀

      Yes sir! Thank you and thank you for making this video. It’s been very helpful on pulling the trigger for this.

      I decided against welding it on. I bolted it but I can’t get the fog lights to clear for the life of me!!!

      coachgeo JKs are f’ugly. I have one btw. So many better versions for cheap out there.

      @@jeffallan3761 lol..... JK look is intended to move a bit away from past Jeep look and merge a bit toward the older G-Wagon look IMHO. Put the two side by side (the iconic square block G's and JK and up) and you begin to see the merger. Since my TJ has a mercedes diesel under the hood am purposely also going for similar merge. Want to preserve respect for Jeep with a hint of G in respect of the MB under the hood.
      If you look at JK and newer Wranglers ONLY with minds eye of the Flat fender/CJ look..... then you won't get the newer Jeep's look.
      Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder anyway.

    going to try to put JK front bumper ON TOP of TJ bumper. why??
    1) with the WIDE fender flares on mine (7") she is now as wide a JK.
    2) TJ has a 3" body lift... this creates a huge unsightly gap between bottom edge of fender-n-flare and top of typical OME front bumper mounting.. The JK bumper done like in this vid... also leaves a big gap though little less. Yet, either one mounted up leaves this FUBARED looking gap that screams either "fill me" or "go stubby bumper- to erase me". Most go stubby cause it became the fad to solve the issue... but this throws mud about which encourages rusting etc. With JK bumper on top..... it fills the gap nicely.
    3) and well. w/35's ......If you do as in video you gotta go stubby cause the JK bumper hits the tires ... On top; as contemplating here, should prevent this according to a quick eyeballing.
    Will make a video at some point.
