There's something about seeing the houses of artists who have books and strange fanciful objects, that makes me feel an enormous sense of wellbeing. It's like these are the houses that people actually want to live in, not the sterile luxury apartments in magazines. At least, that's how I feel about it all.

I love the cosiness of the house. Filled with all the things he loves and has collected over the years . You can almost see how comfortable and content he is in his own little world and surrounding environment . That's what I hope my house will be like one day, personalised and cosy.

If you asked me what Stephen Merritt’s house would look like based on Magnetic Fields music, I would imagine a lot of austere, concrete industrial minimalism. This is not what I imagined what his house looks but I am delighted that it is! I love it! It’s Pee-Wee’s playhouse from the depression! lol
