      Thankyou Ben, a good solution would be to have good surface movement and that will eliminate the oil surface from your tank!

    Had the same problem. did the tissue method before going to bed. gotten most of it but the next morning, it was covered full with it again. So i just cleaned my hob with skimmer filter and now its gone . sometimes all you need is to clean the filter.

    Wt about betta tank they don't like water movement ....

      You can install a skimmer and use it once a week to get rid of surface skim. There is no need to keep it running all the time.
      I usually use the skimmer once a week for 15 mins and clear my water surface on the beta tank
