I think cynical loner would've been good in your deck. Reanimator is a 3 card combo: You need discard outlet (or lucky mill I guess), reanimation target and reanimation spell. That's why the land cyclers are so good in reanimator, they discard themselves and reduce it to a two card combo. Cynical loner is a 2 drop that can trade early and gets you an entomb if you manage to have it survive even once. It basically digs for your valgavoth anytime it connects
I think Enduring Vitality is actually one of the best if not the best of the enduring cycle. The survival deck is pretty strong if you can make it work, but sometimes it can be difficult to find enablers for that deck and Vitality lets you tap anything for no extra cost. Not saying the others are bad of course, they're all great.
Idk the blue creature is a 4 power creature with Flash for 4 and an absolutely insane ability. Vitality is a good enabler for survival but by itself it's so inferior to the blue one its not even close
I feel like the only thing that might frustrate me in this format is the Survivor mechanic. It is annoying as its a snowball effect that rewards the aggressive player who is already in a strong position and making it near impossible to come back from a slow start.
I really liked Outlaws of Thunder Junction, so Duskmourn is going to have to be insanely good to beat that for me. I gave OTJ like a 9/10 compared to Bloomburrow 5/10.
Very interesting and cool deck :D I think Come Back Wrong seems worse than Murder though, as Come Back Wrong is a sorcery. But damn those top end creatures were nasty~
1:03:57 happened to me too with the haste assumption when I first read the card, but then I looked at 3cmc and went "yeah makes sense actually". No way they'd print both yoink AND sac on 1 card for 3 mana lol. Still could be a great removal in some sacrifice based deck, that can get value from the extra body without necessaryli attacking with it
I could see the harrowing common creature good in this deck to rummage targets into the grave. Also terramorphic expense should be a huge priority when you get crucible
Im a newer player and bought a bunch of Duskmourn. Do you have any advice for decks that consist mostly of Duskmourn cards? I have enough to craft other things but would most likely stick to the new set. I understand it may not be the most competitive but would like to use it as a stepping stone to get going.
I've build a rakdos deck 18 land with 2 rares rooms that make a 6 6 demon with other 3 demon other 2 rares 2 red land cycler and 10 spot removal ! 7 win . The 7 mana uncommon demon was impressive
During draft: "you need some way to get Valgavoth into your graveyard and then reanimate it though, because you're NEVER going to be able to hard cast it!" *first game proving me wrong* 😶
"It feels like one of those matchups where if we play it back a bunch of times, we win the majority of them". Man, it's almost as if MTG could use a mode where you don't just instantly lose the match after a single game. :)
Day one of the format and we saw the golgari reanimator mirror with big daddy valgavoth on both sides. Them killing each other and exiling was hilarious.
Terrible drafting between trying to switch to red when you're entirely green/black and almost at the end of pack 1 to skipping almost every ramp spell that passed while picking up 7 and 9 drops (and then you only put in 16 lands 😂). Only then do you realize you have no way to discard the high cmc cards and lament the fact that you have no way to get from early mana to late game to cast the big spells you grabbed. Hilarious video!
You’re way too high on walk in closet. It’s crucible of worlds slapped onto a really crappy regrowth. Doesn’t affect the board at all, you never want to just turn 3 it and then you need 7 mana to flashback a 2 drop? Meh. EDIT: well I guess it’s pretty good if the whole format is dimir durdle tribal.
@@justagoose7741It’s mega slow tho. On the draw against 2-drop, 3-drop+trick it feels bad. Maybe I’m still in Bloomburrow PTSD mode. Maybe I’ve been abused by curve decks for too long and we can play cards with zero board impact.
its fair criticism. some decks will just curve out stomp you if your not careful, this is modern limited after all, anything this expensive that doesn't effect the board is a risk.
@@maxkobussen7542all i can say to this is that my first draft a went for green red delirriun aggro deck and when i was 6:2 my opponent played turn 1 or 2 that artefakt that you tap and exile card from graveyard. This kind of coincidence happens to me pretty often. I still won 7:2 haha 🫣
@@maxkobussen7542and same or similar thing happens in this nummot draft, when matchmaking can't find deck that beat you, it matches you vs mirror. This thing happens to me also too way often to be just coincidence.
Great upload as always!! That being said, at 1:11:40 I think you should targeted the 4/4 twice. It would have gotten more power off the board and none of hos attackers could trade with your demon. Peace and love, respectfully.
I never get tired of seeing a crazy OP card and “format solved” in Nummy’s thumbnails 😂
Format solved and its not boros this time 😅
Surprised face with click bait is what makes youtube run....
😂 man looks like a constructed deck , of course format solved

Definitely
Daaaamn that last opponent had an incredible reanimate deck! Honestly incredibly good matchup and you did amazing vs. it :)
"They still have 5 cards!?" is a real summation of the Duskmourn format. In a good way, usually!

1:31:35 the Valgavoth surveiled into the opponent's graveyard just as he killed his discipline xD
Great games. If the format continues to shape up like this, it'll be one of the best draft sets of the year.
It is 100% the best of the year
The bar was low after BLB and I am pleasantly surprised.
@@kithkindeck already got more 5+ win drafts in DSK than in BLB

Been bombing Waltz with Flesh burrower, not to mention how much burrower enables bite & fight spells. Solid common
bet that 1 point of missed dmg haunts dude from 1st game

Red white swept my prerelease and got me 7 wins today. Not what I expected to overperform.
True, i trophied in diamond with it with 0 rares, 0 signpost uncommons, 0 MVS's. Just korin, a bunch of 2s and scorching dragonfires.
1. Select good cards.
2. Don't select bad cards.
3. Be on play.
4. Draw well and curve out.
5. Do not pun-t.

SOLVED!
An amazing card to get around the wild ward Valgavoth is No Where to Run. Gets rid of ward abilities of your opponent

Seventh Pick Waltz of Rage?? I'm missing out on free gems not playing on Arena the first two days ohmygod
regarding Miasma Demon: could you target a creature twice by discarding two cards, giving it -4/-4?
no, i don't believe so

Thanks my tubers!
Without re-shufflers, isn't there an argument to running over 40 cards?
6-2, Valgavoth mirror, and gets screwed for i think 6 or more turns in a row there xD
That last game though....

Bit of a hyperbolic title but I'd have watched it anyway. 😊

Manifest dread, delirium, surveil... an enchantment with 2 modes... in this set it's quite good, compliments a lot of mechanics well.

nice
My God, that first game took ages, that opponent played so slowly...
Late
It is well documented that draft is rigged but more power to you for pretending its not.
What do you mean by that? I'm really interested in mtg arena conspiracy theories; is there any evidence? Any kind of systemic study?

You can't target the same creature more than once with that ability.
You can't, it's simply x creatures getting -2/-2. Getting as many 2 toughness creatures off the board was the only real play.

it is so painful to watch all of the punts and misplays and nonbos. the first game is just ... bad
set literally came out the day I recorded this so have some grace
Oh yeah? Well your mommas so fat, she has two zipcodes
