Also, for deep shelves I like to use cups or things turned upside down to boost up the back layer to make it easier to see some of the plants if they're all the same height, gives some depth and dimension.

you should place the extra glass double shelf on top of the low shelf so you don't have to worry about water. LOVE this video. The shelf is so dreamy.
I used black electrical tape on the facing side of the light bars as well as the cords on my Barrina lights inside my Rudsta. Works great and has stayed in for like two years.

They sell longer cords so you can basically daisy chain all your lights into one power adapter. I think they said you can connect up to 16 of the 1ft Barrina lights in one power adapter.
Looks lovely. Consider putting a drop pendant light in the middle. Also add upside down pots or stands to add different heights for the smaller plants on the top shelf.

Barrina has longer cords so if you wanted, you could connect the lights between shelves instead of needing a separate set up for each level!
That's what I did, ordered longer connector cables.
I spent extra on lights from the hydroponics store and it made a big difference.

That's what I did. I connected all mine together so one switch turns on about 8-12 lights at the same time. You can connect up to 12 lights together, so I have 1-2 plugs for every two book cases. Most of my lights are Barina.

Another hour long video 🥹 you’re spoiling us! I got a power box to hide my power board! Just a plastic box with holes through the top and the sides so you can feed your cables through. I have a white one and a black one. It’s so sleek looking. 🌼

I’d get a box to enclose the power strip. It’ll be protected from water and will give you a ‘shelf’ to put some plants on.

It looks so beautiful!!! I love the plant charms, I've never seen that before! I bet that wine charms or dangling earrings could be upcycled into plant charms too!
Watching set-up vlogs is helpful. Right now, I don't have space for a shelf, so this is the perfect time to make a blueprint for future shelves. So far, I've landed on color coordination (shelves and fixtures), cord management (e.g., color, covers, placement), power-sources and timers; storage space for plant care items.

Longer cords you can buy to chain them together.. I agree with you on finding black lights. I keep waiting for them to come out with black ones. I've even thought about covering the light w tape and spray painting them. Love love love your set up! I sure with my nearest IKEA store was closer than 5 hours away!

Fern, if you were so moved, you can trim the adapters that link the two light sticks together. It is a quick and easy soldering job, add some heat shrink tubing and boom, professional looking short adapters!
I have that same tall vitsjo shelf and I bought the barina grow lights, they must be the 2 ft ones, and what I do is go criss cross to the top of each shelf and the daisy chain works perfect!

Some plastic square and rectangular trays under your plants will lessen any excess water spilling onto your glass shelves...save any messes.
I got heaps from 2nd hand stores for a few bucks each and use them all the time.

You can use the top of the shelf too, for plants that don't need grow lights.
I'd get a fire check by a local fire man to make sure you are safe, with so many electrical points.
They do checks for free in my country.

The new set up looks fab!!! I’ve been using barrina lights for 2 months and they are great! I even find some plants needing to only have 1 light per shelf. My top shelf has 2 so my high light plants are there and then some lower light plants are on a shelf with only 1 light and they do great! I hope this new set up brings you much joy!
Omg Fern!! I just put up my Vittsjo plant shelves yesterday!! The only thing is that I wanted white but they’re not selling it here in Puerto Rico. I’ll just have to spray paint it 😮 it really does make a beautiful difference with the plants…enjoy!!! 🌱🌿🪴🙋🏼♀️💚Mine are 2 tall. Video coming up this week. I did use my Barrina lights on my Milsbo tall but not on these. I placed my shelves against my SW facing frosted windows which provide more than enough light for now. Prime real estate 😅😊

I'm so glad you mentioned the nano tape. There is nothing quite like being awakened in the middle of the night to some weird crashing sound in your plant room and being freaked out. Then the next day you arrive to see the light has smashed some delicate plant. Some cute little elevators would be nice to add for height variation.

Forgot to mention 22-27 pound giant healthy muscular beautiful chihuahua.

Since this video is from a few weeks back, someone’s probably mentioned it, but there’s a clear plastic film on the Barrina lights. I almost missed it myself when installing these, so I wanted to mention it just in case. 😊 The shelves are gorgeous. I have wooden ikea shelves, and am just a tad envious of your beautiful arrangement. It’s so clean and allows the plants to be the focal point. 💚
I have the same exact set up! I got the shelves and lights in fall 2021! I love it so much! Your plants will live their best lives this fall/winter!
Oh and the sticky pads that comes with the Barrina lights will wear out and drop the lights on the plants as time goes on. I discovered this one morning. Thank God none of my plants were crushed or the lights were on. Lol. Try to get some strong double sided tape. It won’t budge!

Hey Fern 2 things, I got the same lights and I found that when the lights are on the heat makes those pads unglue. I got some heavy duty double sided Velcro and haven’t had another issue. Amazon also sells longer connectors for in between the lights I saw them in 2,4 and 6 ft. Worked so well for me
Looks lovely, Fern! I hang my power strips upside down to the bottom of a shelf. Also helps me avoid pouring water into it.

You can buy longer T5/T8 connection cords and extentions. I've seen connection cords up to 3ft long and the extentions around 6inches long if you just need a smidge more length.
I use zip ties and stretchy cable covers for cord management. Zip tie the extra cordage together and cover with the cord cover and no one will know.
Your shelves are beautiful.
I need to buy an extension and then pop the power bar under the lower shelf! Will be even better then 😊

Oh my goshhh!! I have the same shelves and set up with the Barrina lights. I found a really good way to for hiding cords and also being able to connect the lights from shelf to shelf to reduce the amount of plugs that I used!
I just bought the same grow lights and I ended up buying different plugs and connectors for them bcuz they were so short. SinLoon T5 T8 LED Dual Switch Power Cord, 5.9 FT LED Tube. They are so much better !! 😊

I so enjoyed this do-it- yourself video. Just a tip for your exotica I too struggled with them until I put it in a self watering pot in a semi chunky mix. It is an amazing plant now!
Prob too late now, but if you still have the pieces it looks like your pot that broke could be super glued back easily, start with big pieces, might look really cool with cracks and helps with drainage too. I have a few pots I did it too and I actually love the look
If the nano tape fails I have been using the command strips for picture frames. Stick one on each end of the light and the plant stand. Also nice for easy removal if you need to adjust the placement.
