Your tatting is so very beautiful. Thank you for sharing how to make these beautiful pieces. I'm at the beginnie of my tatting learning journey and just made your motif from your tatting what is rw , video. That is also wonderful. Thank you. I'm getting better at changing from ring to chain without gaps now. 😊!! thanks to your tutorials. I am generally confused about something though. It seems the way of counting picots and ds after picots happens in two different ways. Sometimes people count the picot closing second half of ds stitch as one of the ds after a picot and sometimes the picot is counted as incuding the ds necessary to make it (which is the way that makes most sense to me). Could you please help me better understand. In you what is rw video, i thought you were counting the picot as necesarrily including the ds it's made ontop of, then the ds number after was separate (I slowed the video and tried to count you making them, but maybe i got it wrong?), so for exampe in the ring, it is 5, P, 2, P , 5.. so the P in that project seemed to included the ds necessary for the picot to exist. Here, however your butterflly picots are noted as counting the ds used to create the picot as a separate notation to the picot. haha. my head is going crazy... I'm trying to understand. Please help. To me counting the picot as separate notation to the ds required for the picot to exist seems weird. How do you count picots and the ds's that follow please, and how do you write the abbreviation for it? And do some members of the tatting community do it differently, or is there a general rule and consensus about it in the community? Sorry for my long question. Thank you very much.!! 🙏 To add a note....to clarify if needed. For 3 picots in a row, i would want to write P, P, P. as to me it makes sense that the picot requires the ds it is made ontop of, and therefore that double stitch is included in the "P".... yes the picot is the pretty loop above the ds, but it couldn't exist without the ds, it sits ontop of. To me the ds is part of the "p" .
@@maimaikaito thank you so much for answering my question. I will try and make my brain accept and understand 😅. Thank you, I will definitely enjoy more tatting lace ☺ , wishing you continued tatting lace enjoyment too, and with your lovely cat.

You don't need to count P as 1 DS. I hope you will enjoy tatting lace😌
