    No I wouldn't filter that water either Andy - your likely to grow something extra. Nice spot to camp - there was enough wind for the turbines but to much for the tarp it looked. A tropical sunrise indeed. Spectacular start to the day. All the best. Mark

      @AndyWardle  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wye Explorer was a bit windy at first but eased right off. There’s turbines there for a good reason 💨 it was ok but I’d preferred a bit grass. Sand got everywhere. Took a lot of cleaning. The water was sea water lol. Atb mate.

    Great stuff, Northumberland is the dogs like, we are blessed. You should of had your crampons on for that sand lol. Fancying a coastal soon. Atb wor kid 👌👌

      Miles from anywhere was genuinely stuck lol. Coastal ok but messy like. A patch of grass would be ideal. The sunrises are great as it’s on the east coast too. It’s a mixed bag. Need a good spot though. I’ll research. Atb mate.

      LiveSimplyFilms: Mountain Mike lucky with the weather for a change. This was half an hour up the coast from me. Be rude not to. Bit sandy mind. I think I’ll look for a grassy knoll on my next “coastal” cheers for watching atb.

    Nice to go local from time to time, it's amazing what you can find if you have a good ratch. Can't make a call on the tarp camping, still out on that one, we're not 100 per cent sold on it. Done it many times, but a tent ticks all the boxes. Loved the comedy roll down the sand, imagine walking your dog and a grown man rolls down a bank...lol, that would have been gold if someone had been walking past like. Good banter as usual, thanks for letting us know that the second hole wasn't used...ha,ha. Prunes could help with that....ATB R&D 'Hiya Cazza' :):)

    • @AndyWardle
      @AndyWardle  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      garn fora ratch Aye I like a tarp but tents win I reckon. Oh and grass not sand. It was soaked in the morning and covered. Was like giant sheet of sandpaper 😆. I’ll never grow tired of dune surfing 🏄‍♂️ lol it’s what they’re for. Aye holes everywhere too. Just in case ye knaar. Enjoyed it though regardless of all the sand intruding. Was different. Hope you’re both well. Catch up soon Atb.

    Nice place, looked like a good outing. I just went up to Druridge Bay with the wife for her first Tarp camp, found a great place on a little 5m high cliff top which was grass. Lots of drift wood for fires, but not far off the cycle track so it would be a lot better in winter I reckon. The good bit was that you can drive to within a few hundred metres of the place.

    • @AndyWardle
      @AndyWardle  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      SCRUFF Outdoors that’s what I prefer a grassy base. That sand. I’m still cleaning it out my ears 😆. Yeah winter camps with a nice fire on the beach. Perfect. Atb mate.

      Anthony Payne yeah it’s a lovely place but messy with the sand. Takes a bit of cleaning up. Sunrises are great as it’s the east so nothing in the way. I love it up here. Thanks for watching mate atb.

    The Lake District wasn't too busy on the out skirts of the park. I wouldn't go near places like Keswick or Ambleside on a bank holiday weekend. I found a canny little spot above Newlands Hause in Butteremere, got parked easily at the hause but the village was chocka. Them two people walking past your camp in the dunes were doggers, I saw the same people on Shaftoe Crags with mattresses on their backs so definitely doggers

    • @AndyWardle
      @AndyWardle  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fell Wanderer the dorty doggers. I thought they were shifty. I’ll be watching your video later with cazza. Better than tv man. We’re off to the lakes Saturday. Crowds aren’t my scene. Stayed at home sat sun mon. Much easier.

    Thank you SO much for showing this. The last time I saw Coconut Island was from an RAF fast patrol boat in 89-90. We were a mobile training offshore boat for the then sea kings, from both Boulmer and Leconfield. Good times then years ago and fab memories.

    Most of Northumberland dunes are designated as sites of scentific special interest and camping is illegal and a criminal offence under the wildlife and countryside act 1981. You should use the designated camping sites. The fencing is to allow the dunes to be grazed to maintain the conservation interests.
