Everytime I see those Blink FAQs on my Recommended Videos I always wonder: "Why the hell a 12 minute video just to answer one simple question?" and I ALWAYS end up watching the whole thing. Thanks Jon, you are probably my favorite blink-182 fan ever
Honestly the 04 shows are some of my favs. You will never see another show from blink like that. The energy abd oerformance was off the charts. It was sloppy but theres sonething special to it. The show after dj am died was crazy. It was a dark vibe but kinda similar to 04.
After a childhood of loving them, I saw Blink for the first and only time in Toronto in May 2004. Travis was in a leg cast and playing with only his left foot. The tension was palpable. They literally didn't speak to each other for the first maybe 6-8 songs. They just played like crazy. Then Tom said "wow I can't believe we haven't made a mistake yet". It lightened the mood a little, but there was very little communication between them. They announced their Hiatus immediately after the completion of that tour.
I first saw them in 2004 and although it was a great experience I was 13, but yeah they played so fast, which I actually liked , it was louder(because of toms amps) and faster than after the reunion. And the banter was so crazy, I actually remembered a specific line from Tom to mark and recently someone uploaded the audio from the 2004 Orlando show and it was exactly what I remembered him saying and holy shit that was obscene, but still I love that era and one of my favorite concerts. Seen them twice since then and met Tom so that’s pretty cool. Honestly though the last time I saw them in 2011 I think they played I miss you the best I’ve ever seen it live post reunion you can look it up, West palm 2011 one
I saw Blink 182 twice. First time in the summer of 2000 in Paso Robles, California. I was 11 years old. A couple of months later „The Mark, Tom and Travis Show“ was released and for the longest time I could‘ve sworn they might have recorded the show I saw for that album because the setlist and banter were nearly identical. I later found out the shows were not the same but during the same tour. Then I saw them again in 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah. right after the release of TOYPAJ. New Found Glory and Midtown opened for them. I had just gotten into NFG a month or so before this show when I bought their self titled album. This show was insane with pyrotechnics and lights added that were pretty mind blowing. I seem to remember that Travis Barker performed a drum solo part of the stage lifting up into the air and spinning while he was performing. Really insane. It was only way later that I realized I witnessed Blink in their prime much like when people say „I saw the Beatles, Led Zeppelin or the Rolling Stones in the 60‘s.
DUDE YOU GOT TO SEE THEM IN 04?! I love the bootlegs from 04,I think they were at their musical peak then. Could you really feel the tension between them as a member of the audience? (This question applies to anyone who has seen them in 04.)
HotDog Water I got to see them in Feb and Nov 2004 in the UK and you could definitely feel the tension between them. They played amazingly but everything was super fast and the few jokes they made seemed almost forced. It was a far cry away from the classic blink we all know and love, but I’ll always be thankful I got to see my favourite band before they split.
@@jefflikeusual20 There's a video of them in the UK from 2004,after the audience sang Toms part in reckless abandon Mark said, "Wow you all should sing all of Tom's parts." Then Tom said, "Shut up Mark, you can eat shit and keep eating it." But from the way they said it, it wasn't a joke. Since you were actually there do you have any more examples like this?
HotDog Water I listened to that bootleg and like you said; it wasn’t said as a joke. When I saw them both times in 04 there wasn’t any of that hostility but you could just tell things weren’t right. It would be more obvious if you were a fan before the self titled album as you knew the true blink 182 and their personalities. It just felt rushed and the heart and soul wasn’t there. Mark was more into it than Tom and Travis was just hammering out his frustration on the drums. I was so stoked to see them, it was a great experience but the 17 year old me wanted to see a mark Tom and travis show vibe 😋. They were at their peak musically though, without a doubt. They’re great musicians for what they do.
@@jefflikeusual20 Damn dude. I love every 2004 live video man. I can only imagine seeing them live at that point. Fucking Whats my Age Again? Wasn't even 2 minutes long they played it so fast. I bet all the Enema and Toypaj fans must've been confused. Thanks for replying.
Haha, it was a different experience compared to the classic blink; but was great in its own right as you’ve heard from the bootlegs! No worries man, always cool to talk blink! Take it easy.
I've seen blink every tour since 2001 when they played with newfound glory and mest. I saw boxcar racer in Atlanta and Plus 44 in Charlotte for fall out boy, who I didn't stay to see. The neighborhoods tour and the California where the worst as far as fun/chemistry with Tom and mark. The best tour was with Greenday after toypaj.
NES ADDICT agree completely. Saw them in 2001 and 2002 and the show had a really light hearted/ nothing else mattered in the moment feel to it. The banter back and forth was so funny then too. I remember mark doing his devil voice and talking to the crowd and Tom making constant penis jokes lol. Glad I got to see them in their glory days
You’re one lucky dude to have seen them in their prime before their break up, I’ve only seen them twice once in 2016 for the California tour and once in 2013 when they did a couple of LA shows for the 10 year anniversary for the untitled album. So when Tom left again I wasn’t too bummed because I had at least seen them with Tom there.
The Living End is amazing!!! One of my favourite bands of all time indeed!!!! Saw Blink in 2009 during their reunion tour and Against Me and Rancid were the openers, amazing concert overall.
I had the same feeling about The Living End. I saw them in 99 in Indianapolis and they opened for The Offspring. They were great! No Doubt was actually my first concert in like 97 (also in Indianapolis) The cool thing about that show was that The Vandals opened for them. I saw Blink for the first time in 2001 in Indianapolis. Mest, Alkaline Trio, and New Found Glory opened, which was awesome! Then I saw them again in 2002 with Green Day. The third time was the one in 04 with no doubt and the Living End. Then I saw them again with Fall Out Boy in like 09 maybe. Then the last time was on the neighborhoods tour with My Chemical Romance. I think either 01, 02, or 09 were my favorites.
I saw Blink-182 3 times. Once at the Verizon Wireless Ampatheater in 2009. The next was at the Honda Civic Center in 2011. In the last one what is at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas in 2013!... the one in 2013 was the best concert I’ve ever been to! That was the last time I went to a concert. Next time I’m going to a concert will be 2019 when Angels & Airwaves releases Strange Times!
Saw blink 2 times. Once for the first Honda civics tour with alkaline trio at the paramount theatre in Seattle and the second time for the pop disaster tour with jimmy eat world and Green Day. Great times
I think the show I saw was in 2009. Was in Detroit, it was Chester french, panic at the disco, fall out boy and blink. The lineup was insane but the show was relatively tame. Good show, but didn't blow me away. But the drum solo on the riser above the crowd was definitely the coolest shit I have ever seen at a blink show
I think I would go see a reunion blink concert because I feel like Tom would put some effort into that tour considering he would kind of be doing it for the Legacy and showing people he still has it.
I saw them back in 2009 during their tour where they got back together. They were touring with Weezer, and to be honest Weezer played a WAY better show. As much as I love Blink, they just didn't seem into it, Weezer gave it 110% and blew the crowd away.
I saw them with Cypress Hill right after the self titled album dropped. Travis was in the spinning globe, they played sooo fast. I have pictures from a disposable camera I snuck in I have no idea where they are tho haha.
blink are my favourite band ever i got into them late 2010 when i was 14. Wish i could have been old enough to see them back in the 90s and 2000s but I loved seeing them live. I saw them once in 2012 on their album tour in london and last time in august 2014. One of Tom's last london shows. I was so upset when tom left again and i dont like matt in the band his voice does not suit the music and i have no intrest seeing blink without tom. Their new album was really poor too and its so upsetting!
Saw blink in 2016 with Skiba. It was an unbelievable performance, I couldn't believe how well Matt did. His vocals and his guitar tone were so perfect it was like listening to Enema or TOYPAJ. But... they were just... idk.. boring? I think is the word I'm looking for. They weren't that fun group anymore who made you laugh and entertained you. They just played their set really really well and that was it. Nonetheless, it was still a really good show with All Time Low and A Day To Remember
Sticks and Beers Podcast agreed. I've seen them in the UK. They were awesom, but they lacked the banter and the set was 70min long... which was sad. But it's still fucking great show.
Wait...u saw +44 with the fuckin matches!!? Dude! I'm so jealous! E. Von Dahl killed the locals is one of my all time favorite albums by the matches. I haven't seen new found glory yet and I really want too
Only had the chance to see them with Skiba cause a friend of mine had no one else to go with. Such a boring show and there lack of chemistry on stage really didn't do it for me.
I almost got to see them here in Canada 2 years ago when California released. Had nobody to go with me and lost interest when I heard Tom left. (Matt's good just doesn't have chemistry with the band IMO.)
I seen them in like 99 or 2000 in a little dance hall in Rochester ny. They played with assorted jellybeans and unwritten law great show except for blink lol.i forget the year but they just got Travis in the band and they sounded like shit honestly I get you can have a off night. ha. thanks for stayin til the end!
I saw them on the Pop Disaster Tour with Green Day and Saves The Day in Hartford, CT May 2002. What a lineup man!
I'm loving this series!
Me too!

Saw them november 2004, two shows before they broke up. They were at their peak, it was unbelievable. 2010 was rather lame...

I like these FAQ videos. Keep them coming!
The Living End is amazing!!! One of my favourite bands of all time indeed!!!!

Super fast 2004 blink is my favorite version of blink.
i can certainly see it appealing to some people but it was just hard for me to enjoy
Keep this series up bro I love it
Until now I saw them in 2012, 2014 and last year.

Dude, you're so lucky! I'd kill to go see Blink live in the early 2000's and also to see Boxcar Racer, +44 and AVA live!
Saw them on the Honda Civic tour in Dallas and was blown away. Played Josie by request and violence. Tom was really on it that night too.
2011 was the honda civic tour, that was the first time i saw them live. them and MCR. saw them again in 2016 when they came to SC.
Saw blink 2 times. Once for the first Honda civics tour with alkaline trio at the paramount theatre in Seattle and the second time for the pop disaster tour with jimmy eat world and Green Day. Great times

I first saw Blink in 1997 for $15 in LA
I was actually at the last show Adam's song was played it was pretty sad.
I thought they brought it back?
littleredguitars2 They played it recently at the Vegas shows.
littleredguitars2 I wasnt aware if they did lol
The Living End are an amazing band!!
Did you consider seeing Ava last year? And know Tom is/was getting better with his live performances would you see him with blink the reunited

Mateusz Yeah ADTR stole the show that night for me, I also love ADTR so im a little biased
If that was at Darien lake then inwas there too. Bc those two bands were there too
I was meant to finally see them this month in Minnesota with State Champs buuut they cancelled lmao
Never got to see AvA but was lucky enough to see Boxcar.
Not many people can say theyve seen bcr!
Are u from the mass area ?
When you saw them in ‘03 was Tom using the Gibson or Fender?
Doyle Alexander he was already using gibson in early 2003
He was using both actually. The ES-333 for most of the songs and a baritone Strat or Jazzmaster for downtuned songs like Obvious or Adam’s Song
Wait...u saw +44 with the fuckin matches!!? Dude! I'm so jealous! E. Von Dahl killed the locals is one of my all time favorite albums by the matches. I haven't seen new found glory yet and I really want too
Instead of seeing blink live I am going to see a blink 182 cover band in a 50 people capacity club
Did you like it?
Your beard is quite nice. As I am a female, I only ever got one small blonde hair out of my right cheek.
you'll get there some day. just keep at it
