As we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sept 30th, students are invited to learn more and reflect on what this day and week means. We encourage our students, staff and faculty to wear orange to mark the week. There will be complimentary orange ribbons and Orange t-shirts made by Urban Native Youth Association (UNYA) for sale $12 each at the front desk all week.
Tuesday, Sept. 26 ,Changemaker Conversation and Mace Carving with Musqueam Artist Chrystal Sparrow, 12-3 PM, Plato’s Cave
Join us around noon in the Plato’s cave as Chrystal Sparrow, a Musqueam Coast Salish artist, speaks at our changemaker series. Later in the day, she will be carving a mace till about 3pm at Plato’s. You’re welcome to join us for both.
Join us on Thursday, Sept. 28, as we visit the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre at UBC to learn more and reflect on what this day means. Meet us at 12pm in Plato’s Cave.
