curious about using my 706 for a gobox type rig, would this be viable for battery use? The 706 I have is mint condition with all accessories and filters when I bought it second hand from an estate.
Exhaust is on the back (draws from grill on top which isn't blocked). Wasn't an issue when I had it. But as a 20 year old radio I didn't use it for heavy transmit duty cycle.
Where did you get the short Y cable to connect the tuner to the radio? thanks
I made all the interconnect cables because they are so short.

You have the LDG tuner blocking the primary cooling path for the radio. Doesn't it over heat???

Nice! how do you call that side handle attached ?
No handle. Has siderails and a carry strap attached. The rails are from: portablezero.com/
where can I get the structure for the 706 mkiig?

How power hungry is it?
As I recall it was hungry, between 1A & 2A on receive. Most 100W (RF) units are around 20W on transmit at 13.2VDC.
