I’m not sure who I’m angrier with: the guy who made it so that this thing can take out an entire E-tank of energy with one slam attack, or the one who made it so that you have to repeat the entire section leading up to this boss from scratch every time you lose. Maybe the second because there’s no excusing level design that bad.
This is one of the worst designed encounters I've come across in a game. The last save was at your ship and the save happens before the dialogue meaning when you inevitably die the first time you're gonna restart at your ship, try to run to the encounter, hit an arbitrary dead end, spend some time trying to find the way past again... only to realise you have to go back to your ship, read the dialogue, probably save after it this time (fool me once), make your way to the encounter which is inexplicably unblocked now, passing a disabled save room because fuck me I guess, finally get back there, try a few things, then get stunlocked to death. Honestly I couldn't recommend playing any of the original 2D metroids without save states, but this is just ridiculous.
For real. Honestly I don't even feel like playing this game anymore. It's so unforgiving and it takes so long to get back to every time you die. At least battle kid had a save spot right underneath the annoying to beat boss. This one is just inexcusable.

x parasites you can bait into certain movments since they always try to move directly towards you but have alot of momentum. so you can bait them by going to one corner and jumping over then immediately running to the other corner. this usually will lock them into a loop of swooping underneath you every time
I like this boss, the fact that it is very clear how to beat it, the strategy is every interesting and fun to search for, especially because of the save point next to it. I hope the fucking pile of stupid trash who made this boss never works on a video game ever again.

This has to be one of the most utterly bullshit bosses in all of video game history. Like did anybody at Nintendo play test this fucking level? How is this supposed to be fun? Like sure, if you could get out of the spider's grab, then there would be some kind of fair challenge. But this shit is just awful. It's cheap, frustrating, and the worst part, not fun

xbox controllers are even worse (dear god you use the dpad instead of the joysticks and then there is a stall to some of your actions occasionally

Turns out I was standing in the wrong corner. Before I watched this I thought it was the most unfair boss ever.
