    Glad you got to try the räkmacka. It's pricey, but eating fresh shrimps with a view like that, that's what the west coast of Sweden is about.

      Yes! As you said, it seems a quintessential part of summer in the area. That coast is just incredible and we totally see why it's so popular ❤

      Thanks. We also avoid Smögen during the summer months, as well as Skåne and Österlen. Too many "tourists" for our taste. Feel free to follow us on the tube, you will find us "On days like this"

    You got it right, about Smögen, and other former small fishing comunitys in Bohuslän!
    Im kind of proud about that they still upkeep there fishing, but in summer they get in to real tourist traps!
    And to Makerel fishing, those fishes is Pelargic fishes.. they live out in the open water!

      We actually really liked the islands around Gothenburg - even they were also very busy. It felt a bit different in Smögen though. Friends of ours were there in November and they loved it out of season. As for the Mackerel, yes we've been told in the south of Norway it's often possible to find them off the shore during summer - around dusk. Weather dependent I guess. But it's all just bit of fun and to have an excuse to be outside and enjoy nature. 😋

    Your fridge is like Dr Who's Tardis😁
    Smögen is somewhere I'd sample for about 5 minutes, just to say I visited....(Briefly).

      Agreed. The Archipelago of Gothenburg is a much better option. The fridge... Let's just say we're still kicking that can 😋

    Yeah, Smögen has been like that for as long as I can remember. Hyped, expensive, crowded and lot's of partying. Not saying I don't like visiting once in a while, just saying that's what to expect. Same with Marstrand. Most of the old fishing villages along the west coast of Sweden look similar, so for a more quiet experience you should pick one of the less famous. With less people around, there will of course be fewer restaurants and shops too.

      Totally agree! We actually liked that part of Sweden. Especially the Gothenburg archipelago was so perfectly 'Scandinavian' it was impossible not to love. Smögen was just too busy. Perhaps just bad timing.

    How were the plant based no-meatballs?

    • @WeWillNomad
      @WeWillNomad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In direct comparison the 'plant ball' was a pretty good substitute flavor and texture wise. However, as non-vegan we actually enjoyed the original vegetable balls more - it tastes more vegetable like

    I wonder if it would've been different if you'd visited Smogen in the morning. Maybe all the tourists would still be in bed? It looked quite cute - what we saw of it behind the tourists
