Just discovered this channel yesterday and already gut-hooked. Love the laid-back vibe, the search for adventures and just watching good and very cool people living life to the fullest.
The plantation building was the main building of a resort that used to be there. Spent two weeks there for vacation about 15 years ago. You got your own condos that were set up as apartments and the island had a full service grocery. It was very relaxing, sad to know I can’t go back.
You're so right Heavy D, there's nothing that can compare to exploring by helicopter. Back in the 70s & 80s I worked doing mineral exploration in Southeast Alaska. We traveled everywhere by helicopter in this stunningly beautiful part of the 49th. It was a daily mindblowing experience and I'm still amazed they paid me to do that job. We flew in Hughes 500 C & D models with Vietnam era pilots, those guys were the absolute best. You and the family should find your way up there.
My wife and I took a helicopter tour of the waterfalls in Maui. The feeling that I gave you was unlike any other vehicle I've ever been in. The feeling of floating and then the acceleration was something else. It was just my wife and I sold the pilot showed us some maneuvers that are not usually on the menu. If you know what I mean. LOL it was a great time that I will never forget.
Two reasons I really like this channel.. 1) This guy Heavy D is obviously doing well yet he’s unselfish unlike so many people today and gives stuff away- money & prizes. Koodo’s on you dude. 2) there’s no cussing! I love that.
Yeah I prefer no cussing so I can share it with my grandkids. But I know myself that God lives in their hearts. It would just be A little more family Friendly and more likely to share The fun with my grandkids However I really love watching you guys. I have both laughed and cried with you all. And enjoyed the adrenaline Rush along the way. . But the thing I love most is that big D reminds me so much of my late husband and that his buddies are his best friends and they have a blast together. My late husband loved cutting the fool and working in his shop building cars, dune buggies, racing go carts and just hanging out together having a blast with each other. It’s a wonderful thing. I’ve missed it so much every since 1995 when I lost the love of my life at a very young age and a freakish boating accident. Back then there was no TH-cam, but my late husband would’ve been awesome at it he loved filming him and his buddies cutting up together and he was great behind the camera commentating. I saw the show where you almost lost your friend off the side of the cliff and it brought me back to that dreadful day when my husband didn’t survive the freakish boating accident. So some advice....hug your Bro’s and family every day before you leave and tell them you love them because you just don’t ever know about tomorrow. It’s great to have the memory of departing from each other with love.
Idk man, I mean, he’s done a couple iffy things with selling stuff to his viewers. I don’t watch him as much now because of it. He buys piles upon piles of junk and then sells it to his viewers who think they’re getting something nice because it’s coming from him. The last one was the worst where he sold baseball (I think) cards to people, with the potential of getting something REALLY SPECIAL along with it. I believe he was called out pretty heavily for it. He’s always taking money from his viewers. Kind of messed up imo but people are dumb enough to buy it so I can see why he keeps doing it.
Helicoptering Maui was one of the most beautiful amazing incredible experiences of my life. Especially because of how much knowledge the pilot had about all we were seeing below. I think that makes all the difference.
Man, this show just started getting interesting and it just ended with no real ending. LOL This was a good concept for a video. I love watching your channel because you never know what you're going to get next. Keep up the good work.

It’s actually amazing to fly 🚁. It’s way more demanding than a plane and rewards you with a feeling for freedom. But you are more prone to envy and due to the “ sound pollution “, people easily get annoyed and call the authorities.... And with that wreck salvage going on, the people had a legit right to call in the authorities, as even in the states, there are minimum altitudes and spacing to be adhered to. So, as long as you fly according the regulations, you are safe on the ground. Exemptions are usually only for HEMS and commercial operations.

I worked at Melrose on Daufuskie Island, South Carolina on the golf course when I was in my twenties. Crazy that place is abandoned. The guest log for that place is like a who’s who of the wealthiest people from around the world. I remember seeing the king of Saudi Arabia playing golf. Crazy!
If you have ever seen the movie "Conrack", or read the book "The Water is Wide", it is the true story of a teacher that was sent to Daufuskie Island to teach English to the local children in 1969. Daufuskie is very near Hilton Head Island, but with no bridge or regular ferry service, life on the island was very spartan at that time. The primary residents at that time were African American's whose local dialect was a language called "Gullah" (a.k.a. Geechee). There is still no causeway to the island, but the ferry makes the trip several times per day.
I had one chopper ride in a clear bubble cabin over the Badlands. Such a great flight. Was a bit short on cash 4 the experience however, it was Sturgis and a guy with a Wisconsin patch came up n offered to cover the rest. Turns out the guy who was chosen to fly was from Wisconsin as well so I felt rite at home being born n raised here in Wisconsin.

I actually worked at the Melrose resort from 88-90 shortly after it opened. It was an exclusive members only resort. Back then, members had to pay a $30,000 annual fee. The main hotel was amazing. The golf course was designed by Jack Nicklaus. There was a grocery store, tennis courts, a tennis and golf pro shop, and cottages and a club house right along the beach. I was 18 at the time, and this is my first time seeing this since 1990. sad. Very sad.

Love chopper flying, spent 2 years in Nam, I didn't fly one but I flew with some wild WO's Warrant Officers, some as young as 18 and we flew in the old Huey's It was like giving a 15 year old a new corvette and saying go for it, we would fly up the Mecong river with the skids just a few inches off the water and then up over the jungles. then to wherever our destination was to pick up supplies or drop men off at some small out post, Thank the Lord we never took fire. the doors where always open when we flew because there where M60's mounted on both sides for fire power and it was always too hot for doors to be closed. Maybe get a chance to ride with you guys some day, plan on coming out to Utah this summer to visit your "Operation"

@@annotten7413 this building is literally at least 20 times as large as Matt's place. Which is why this place is actually a lodge, not a mansion.
They are everywhere especially in the Toronto Ontario area.

Dude, just came across your channel and I love it. My obsession for helicopters began in 1985 with Air Wolf... Always wanted to fly a helicopter. Dream choppers are a Bell 206 & MD500, wouldn't mind a Bell 222 Air Wolf and UH-1 HUEY
Your guys channel is better every time I stream. Keep up the hard work guys it's definitely paying off.
Spends 5 minutes talking about the freedom of flying and is then greeted by someone infringing on that freedom upon landing

Great seeing men who work and have a BRAIN...TOTALLY WORTH IT TO HAVE MEN BEING AWESOME enjoying life and managing to make great videos.
Is it bad that even though I find it hard to believe it was pure coincidence this still made my entire day. Love your content!
I’d like to see y’all walk into a really haunted building for some good old fashion scare 🤣
Theres a few Air B&B's right next to the resort that are well worth the stay. The island is a great time as well.
You guys find the best stuff in the weirdest places. And when are you guys ever home
“If you get into helicopters” I hope to get into your helicopter with the giveaway😉 got plenty of room for it

I live in North Carolina and I think it's one of the most beautiful landscapes on the east coast.
Depending on seasonal weather trends, accessibility and zoning, this would be a great DPG Theme Park or offroading lodge or a money pit as it stands... Lol... Great find👍

Ya'll really need to get some light attachments for your cameras. Otherwise, as always, great video guys! Always entertaining!
Glad to have you guys around helps out thank you brothers
That place is cool and rather large, I'm sure there is ppl that are squatting in there and doing who knows what? wtf do ppl feel the need to destroy such things... just imagine the possibilities it could be and done even cheaper if didn't have to replace what has been ruined...
Something's odd about the story. It was abandoned in 2019? It would take a few years to so actively pull it apart that much.
The corporation that purchased never invested and that hoax was up in 2019 is what I understood.
Man I'm so jealous of you guys! You guys look like you have so much fun! Love watching!
Love watching this channel. That place looked insane, OMG the damage. Thank you for sharing the daily "crazy" things you do with us. Although, I do think I would watch if you just streamed everyone staring at each other eating breakfast in silence. Besides Diesel fuel, what do you use for beard treatment? Asking for a friend.
“All the acceleration is down low. “ giggity
“Ooooo”
I'm always amused by the simple satisfaction I experience while being entertained at the same time.
I have always wanted to fly in a helicopter. What cool footage you guys were able to gather from your flight.
This is what hard work and perseverance gets you. You guys rock. Love the content.
I worked at Melrose on Daufuskie Island, South Carolina on the golf course when I was in my twenties. Crazy that place is abandoned. The guest log for that place is like a who’s who of the wealthiest people from around the world. I remember seeing the king of Saudi Arabia playing golf. Crazy!
Always doing something super cool! Hope to be able to explore like you do some day!
Been there many times, you can rent golf carts and drive everywhere. Used to take our boat and jet skis from Tybee there
Hmm ive never groven a gold cart before 🤔
Jack Rowland missing out
If you have ever seen the movie "Conrack", or read the book "The Water is Wide", it is the true story of a teacher that was sent to Daufuskie Island to teach English to the local children in 1969.
Interesting story, sad what happened to the house though. Love your videos!
It’s awesome to see your success. You’re living so many men’s dreams 😂 I’d be happy with just a 4 wheeler or ONE truck
Love your videos, you’ve worked your ass off to get where you are, keep up the awesome work!
Damn I wish I could talk about our helicopters with my friends. All we talk about is our broken down hoopties.

my friend got married there in early 2000's and it was super nice then. the resort crashed in the real estate crash and the guy who bought it at auction got the whole thing for 1 million.
My whole life I’ve wanted to ride in a helicopter. Looks and sounds like such an amazing experience!
It is. I was fortunate enough to go in one over the 12 apostles that jut out of the sea near Port Campbell in Victoria Australia. An experience I will never forget. It was a 20 min flight and only $120 each x2.

Working!!
I was 18 at the time, and this is my first time seeing this since 1990. sad. Very sad.
Amazing flying your own copter I've always wanted to fly in gun ship and use the gunand hang out the side shooting it
ive always wanted to lick ur little noodle but we cant all get what we want
I would love to be able to fly around just for fun and explore. I'm lucky enough to fly helicopters for work but don't get to go exploring for fun
I lived and owned a business in Burlington. I can tell you the corruption especially in the police department runs thick. This is from personal experience after I handed over proof of a crime and the police department refused to investigate it. Wild West
Cool stuff...fun to explore places like this with some interesting history and back stories!
"I know all of you have helicopters"...
Bite me, your beard is so scruffy it looks like there was a cat fight happening on your face.
Seriously though, actually happy that you're able to experience these, thank you for sharing. I was stationed in NC and FL, beautiful areas. Safe travels...
Holy crap, just less then 30 minutes ago you were at 814k now you got 815k. CONGRATULATIONS!! GREAT VIDEOS💞

Love chopper flying, spent 2 years in Nam, I didn't fly one but I flew with some wild WO's Warrant Officers, some as young as 18 and we flew in the old Huey's
It was like giving a 15 year old a new corvette and saying go for it, we would fly up the Mecong river with the skids just a few inches off the water and then up over the jungles.
then to wherever our destination was to pick up supplies or drop men off at some small out post, Thank the Lord we never took fire. the doors where always open
when we flew because there where M60's mounted on both sides for fire power and it was always too hot for doors to be closed. Maybe get a chance to ride with
you guys some day, plan on coming out to Utah this summer to visit your "Operation"
“Straight to da beach boy” lmao
They don't want you flying over the ship wreck because they don't want anyone seeing the escaped petroleum that's escaping the containment.
That’s my guess, too.
They know the petroleum is leaking, that is why there is boom around the ship and they've taken steps to trying keep the environmental impact as low as possible for the situation.
@@bwcritch , they know it, they are just scared to death that the public will know it. I’m sure they mistook his helicopter for a news chopper and everyone at the site panicked.
@@ralphholiman7401 You’re right, they were scared that the pubic was going find out about something that had already been in the news since the time the accident took place. I’m sure these workers would poop their pants if they ever found out about a FOIA and that the public can request to see all the documents pertaining to this ships incident. I’m sure these workers were just so scared that the public was going to find out so much info with that flyover and had nothing to do with the TFR that was around that ship for sometime and they probably thought was still in place. I’m sure they had to stop work with all the panicking going on.
@@bwcritch , you work for them, don't you?
You are absolutely right.
There is nothing like the view from a helicopter, or the fun in flying one. Stay high my friend.
When your electric car has "turbo" in the name, you know it's "legit"
I know you all have helicopters “insert meme here” “crying”

I was at Melsrose (Daufuskie Island) in that hotel in the Summer of 1988 and 1989. My grandparents had a time share and always stayed in a cottage near by where you were at. I have been all over the island in a golf card or on a bicycle since at the time their weren't motor vehicle allowed on the Island. It was a very Elite place to be in the era I was there. What a shame!
All electric car shouldn't have the word turbo in its name.
I was thinking the same thing
