The 1st Asantehene was Nana Osei Tutu I, not Obiri Yeboah as aberewa or Okofo Pomaah is saying. Dormaa is from the saying of their Queen Nkansaa, i.e me d) mma in Twi. Katakyie means the Valiant or Brave one. Such was the titles of King Opoku Ware I and King Osei Hwedie I of Juaben.

You dont even know the history and u talking plenty. Obri yeboah was osei tutus uncle who died as after the fight between asante and dormaa. Osei tutu at the at time was at denkyiraa going through training when he was sent a message to report cus his uncle had died. That was when he came back with okomfo anokye.

@@eveningampm5906 Obiri Yeboah was the chief of Kwaman. It was after his death that Osei Tutu came to succeed his uncle at Kwaman before he became Ashanti Hene when Okomfo Anokye help them to come together to form Ashanti Confederation
