    I read this book before I saw the movie; loved both! Thank you Simon for your wonderful movie. I grew up in California and surfing was a big part of the culture down there; I never surfed, but had a lot of friends that did; I could really relate to what was happening in this. (from Sandi)

    Ok. But what about the part with the plastic bag? I never heard of such a thing. A real turn off. Ruined it all for me.
