Weirdly unscientific. The Apple Watch gives no heart rate result when running and the ionic gives a result which they think might be optimistic, but they don’t bother checking by manually measuring your pulse. Yet they conclude the apple is better at this!?? How can that be!
Seems like a rather stupid test. "That can't be your heart rate can it?" Well prove what his actual rate is and show us how accurate it is or isn't. Those calories burnt don't seem like a lot hmmm must be wrong go with Apple watch that says you have done more it must be better!!
I own a Fitbit Blaze and am moving to Ale Watch Series 3 as the Blaze commonly overstates the numbers of steps, or distance run - even with the phone providing GPS to the watch. Great video - I was tempted to check out the Ionic but I'm done with Fitbit
that was a fun review - the Ionic seems a bit disappointing considering this was a fitness test. Did he compare the data with a chest monitor to compare heart rate or calories burned?
There is no reference to data accuracy, and NO you don't usually have to access every single feature whilst doing your activity - so unrealistic and is why we have phones an other large display devices. The heart rate monitor on the FitBit is well know to be the better of the two, tested against a well known chest worn monitor the Fitbit flaws the Apple. My calorie data seems to be accurate so not sure on the issue this guy had on his (possibly older firmware) and I've not seen any complaints of the forums. Calls on a watch? No, I got a phone for that! Leaving your phone at home? NO! Its light and small and never leave it at home on an exercise.. Sleep tracking on the Fitbit is SECOND TO NONE - Absolutely superb and very accurate thanks to its excellent heart monitor. To conclude: If you want a SMART WATCH with all the bells and whistles and like a variety of 'ok'ish apps' and don't mind the inferior heat rate monitor then the slightly more expensive Apple is for you. If you want fitness accuracy and a more dedicated and ergonomic device go for the FItBit. I did! PLUS the FitBit has a secondary Sp02 sensor (currently not activated) for some future proofing and could prove exceptionally useful. The Fitbit iOS app is very comprehensive and loses Apple Health by keeping everything visible and more visually pleasing.
You thought the Apple watch was a bit more accurate with your calories? Why? I know swimming burns quite a lot of energy out of you, but it seems to me as if you just wanted to say you burned more calories 😂. I mean, who doesn't? Now I'm not saying accuracy isn't important, but some people who are concerned about their weight would benefit more from having their device say they lost less calories than more... it will either motivate them to move more or eat less, and in turn, be better about what they do. Another thing you HAVE to mention is that the Apple watch is a smart watch first and foremost with fitness capabilities, and Fitbit, along with other brands, are fitness watches first, and smart watches second. While you may prefer the apple watch, there's no way to really tell exactly how many calories you've burned, because it's dependent on the person. And just because you can talk to someone while you're on your run, I still find that the fact he had to lift his hand up to hear would be discomfiting for me. It's a bit awkward, isn't it? ... Seems a lot more practical on a walk, honestly. But it really doesn't matter to me. I have a Garmin watch and a Samsung phone 🤣. I guess I'll have to see how many calories I burn when I go on a swim... hopefully it reads somewhere in the middle. (P.s. I don't know why anyone would want to look at their tiny watch screen on a flip turn, though, with all those bubbles floating about..🤔🤔🤔.)
The problem with your heartrate being too high on fitbit is caused by you wearing it wrong. You're wearing it too low on your wrist and probably have the strap too loose. This entire test seems like it's been sponsored by apple.
You know you can change the metrics on your iPhone to what you want, for your bike ride, you could put in the heart rate, so that statement that you can’t see the heart rate is therefore redundant
Most serious athletes will use a Garmin. Much higher quality than the Fitbit in every aspect. The only other watch I would consider is the apple watch to get the smart features.
The tracker on the apple watch isn’t accurate at all. I can’t speak for fitbit, but I’m assuming since that’s what it was actually created to do, it would be better.
I had to send my Microsoft Band 2 off for repair/replacement but there was no stock to replace it. I've also just switched from Windows 10 Mobile to Android so I'm looking for a new smartwatch but they're either ugly or lacking features compared to my Band! Shame Apple is so insular...

This wasn’t really the best test
Fitbit has received an update in the last week that has resolved those issues.
Pointless comparison as one is a smartwatch with fitness tracker functions and the other is a fitness tracker with smart watch functions
Craig Hunter exactly
Do you reckon the fitbit ionic will be discounted on Amazon prime day?
This guy reminds me of the guy from back to the future
I think the Apple Watch’s heart rate sensor was disabled in setup to save battery (which is a part of setup)

Just got the iconic. Sprained my ankle a day later. Idk cursed maybe
Um, 172bpm when cycling sounds rather accurate. Dead? I think not.
Really enjoyed this video! Very entertaining and really showed the pros and cons. Thanks
Biased, and incorrect information
yes
VS The Amazfit Pace 2? Also does swimming and with an always on transflective screen.

the water mode in the apple watch in meant to be used after swimming to kick the water out of the speakers not when you swim.........
there exists a setting to turn on Heart Rate monitoring during workouts on the Apple Watch
You dont need the water mode on thats just to remove acess water in mic or speaker
that was a fun review - the Ionic seems a bit disappointing considering this was a fitness test. Did he compare the data with a chest monitor to compare heart rate or calories burned?
why not check his radial pulse to see if the fitbit HR was accurate? there's a idea!
Thanks for the Video. Nice one. I have the Apple Watch and I am very satisfied with the swim performance.
First time seeing your video. Actually looks like an actual show. Impressive
Wait, it is a show. lmao
You can also use AirPods, which I do.
You can actually just click the power button and the Digital Crown at the same time to pause then later unlock the water and end the workout
great video
Good job on this video entertaining too
The reason the speaker was muffled was because you turned off water mode and then put it back in the water. So that’s why.

Awesome video
This video was entertaining as is informative
If you have an iPhone I can’t see any reason to get the fitbit

I wouldn't class Fitbit as "leaders of sports tracking" by any stretch.
You know you can change the metrics on your iPhone to what you want, for your bike ride, you could put in the heart rate, so that statement that you can’t see the heart rate is therefore redundant
The call test is inaccurate as you don't have to raise your wrist if you are using Airpods.
I have found my Fitbit also has a problem with the heart monitor. It's of by 22 beats for me. That's sitting! I haven't check it with moving.
geraldine becher
New guiness world record!!
Looks like he's being trained by the grim reaper
Looks like he's wearing the Apple Watch too close to his hand, it should sit well above the wrist bone for an accurate heart rate reading.
Brandon Chin, he was wearing both of the devices too close to his hand.

Press both Digital Crown and side button at the same time to pause a swim workout. Not complicated. Learn to read an instruction manual
Interesting ... thanks :)
My $300 ionic died in six months (support: no warranty for you, lol) but my coworker's apple watch is still going.
Can't believe 69 thousand people haven't commented
If you want to compare the Apple Watch then compare the Apple Watch Nike + it’s the sport version
Go fitbit
When he turns the water ejecter on and puts his wrist back in the water is just cringe 😂
Well the Apple Watch is not only the best selling smart watch; it’s now the best selling watch in the world. I know which one I would choose.
I wouldn’t wear my Watch in the pool but good if water gets on it Accidentaly.
Omg it's like comparing apples to oranges...
Hahahahah, it’s like the whole video is showing how Apple Watch is worse than fitbit, but in the end, he is like, meh go with Apple Watch anyway
I miss the Fitbit app. Much better app
I had to send my Microsoft Band 2 off for repair/replacement but there was no stock to replace it. I've also just switched from Windows 10 Mobile to Android so I'm looking for a new smartwatch but they're either ugly or lacking features compared to my Band! Shame Apple is so insular...
why is there no comments here
Lol I enjoyed his outfit
Fitbit Ionic is Far better than apple watch 3
I love gadget show
The speaker on iphone lol
Fitbit is made for sport unlike the apple watch
2:11 the apple wack
He had the Apple in the water more smh 😒‼️
I love this ve
Bias and lies. I have a Series 3 and I haven’t needed to charge it for last 3 days, and it has 23% left
Horrible methods of testing viability and reliability.
Get a garmin if you are all about sports training.
Apple Watch FTW
Wish I could get an Apple Watch, can't afford it. :(
why am i seeing no comments?
jeez, out of the water with the apple watch is so simple, just turn the crown and in next to no time its unlocked!! poor representation here!!
Cool
Apple Watch is the best, also where are the comments?
no fitbits are the best
Rachit Singh Apple Watch is a god
Merry chits
Biased, doubt they set the devices up properly, and for sports fitbit is clearly better. Fitbit puts fitness first, apple puts smart watch first.
