    Dear Suzanne, You and Andrea Doig from Fruityknitting are the ONLY ones who show this technique clearly! Thank you so much! As far as I know it came from (or was taught by) the late Ann Bourgeois of Philosophers Wool company. Unfortunately their DVD is not available anymore and due to modern technology the video on their site is not accessible anymore. So thank you very much! I cherish your videos! Also the one where you teach how to eliminate holes at the underarms. I watched it and knitted 5 jumpers after that - never having a problem since. Best, Arianna

      Yes, you are right, but Ann trapped after every stitch, which I do not do. Than you so much for watching my videos. I love to teach knitting.

      @@SuzanneBryan - That is interesting! Andrea Doig of @Fruityknitting does that too. She trappes every stitch or every other stitch. I tried it, and I get a flat fabric without having to have too much attention on my tension. And yes, please keep teaching! I love your videos! ♥

    Best video I've found so far, and my eyes hurt from watching so many trying to get my questions answered! Thank you! I'm going to watch again to see if you said but I can't remember, is the pink your dominant yarn? Also do you always hold the dominant yarn in your left hand?
    Thank you!

    Thank you! I love this technique and you make it look so easy. I'm a continental knitter and I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to maintain an even tension with one color as continental and one color throwing? Admittedly, my throwing skills leave a lot to be desired!

    • @SuzanneBryan
      @SuzanneBryan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Practice, practice, practice. Use the throwing technique for a whole project and forced yourself to become comfortable with it.
      Happy knitting. Be sure to share my videos!

    Thank you so much!!! My first attempt at floating and this is the first one where I could really see where the yarn was held in relation to the needles etc for the purl WS.

    Hi Suzanne how come you work stay so nice and flat my gets bucle up. How to hold the yarn in order it doesn't get too lose or too tight? Thanks

    • @SuzanneBryan
      @SuzanneBryan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cashmere, if you slow the video down, you'll see the I hold the yarn in my index and middle fingers and its also wrapped around my pinky. This allows me to keep a even tension and control the yarn. If you click on the settings icon (the little spoke wheel in the lower right side) you can adjust the speed.

      Much thanks Suzanne..I've a lot of trouble with tensions. I''m currency using a super fine 100% cashmere yarn to knit a shawl .In the past I never have an problem but this time I had unravel the yarn 3 times because the yo hole turn out to be so big even though I used a size 3.5mm needle as I had before . Any tips you can help me with?

    I love your videos. Your videos are so clear and you explain so well that it's easy to learn. I have a question regarding catching floats on the ws when knitting garter. Is it possible? :o) thanks in advance

    • @SuzanneBryan

      I have never tried it with garter stitch. Try it and let me know.

    Hiya! I am just a little confused as to why you catch the different colours in different ways?

    • @SuzanneBryan

      Go ahead and make a little swatch and try it. You will soon see the differences. Happy Knitting!

      I'm sorry, I have other videos regarding floats that may be more specific to your needs. In the search type in Catching Floats and it will pull up several different videos. Good luck!
