I think burnes should absolutely come to the bay as long as we take a page from the dodgers and defer that money

It’s crazy how Buster as quick to move back to Georgia but then a year later come back because him and his wife missed the Bay Area.

This comment section is abnormally negative and also uninformed… Burnes has been linked to the Giants since day 1. Also, money is obviously not an issue anymore. I think Posey is inclined to go get his guys. Good stuff Ben!! Hyped for the season to start!

Great signing! Now for the Burnes, Tucker and perennial playoffs era to begin 😎

My best guess is teams need relief pitching, and would trade a bat for the Roger twins! or Doval for a Bat or starter.

Was not worried the least of Adames’s physical because Failhan had absolutely nothing to do with this. Firm believer that Zaidi screwed that Correa deal. Go Buster keep it up

Willy Adames is a very talented player, but was it refreshing hearing Buster Posey say on MLB Network what stood out was that Adames was known by Craig Counsell as a “connector of people.” Analytics is fine, but that human element needs to factor into how an organization functions.

Ben, Corbin Burnes... NFW. With Max Fried signing with the Yankees for 8 years at $218M, are the Giants going to sign Burnes to a $27.5M x 8 years, equaling a $220M contract! He's a fastball/cutter pitcher who once he loses his fastball velo, then what??? Remember Madison Bumgarner, and Tim Linsecum? They were fastball pitchers who lost the fastball/cutter velo and flamed out in their early 30s.... Let Boston sign him, and get stuck with 5 years of $131.25M dead weight contract they just have to eat. Have you heard of Patrick Corbin, weill his 6 year $140M signing got the Nationals 47-77 record and a great 5.11era! the man couldn't be moved due to the contract. The Nat's couldn't not pitch him. That's all the Giants need is another bad pitcher like Barry Zito, or Arizona signed with Madison Bumgarner, or the Corbin deal with Washington. I say no to Burnes at this crazy number!

If you refuse to sign players because the back third of their contract might not age well, you'll never sign a single free agent. Sometimes signing talented, all-star caliber players involves risk but worrying about the billionaires and their wallets is a ridiculous thing for any fan to consider. Not to mention the Lincecum and Bumgarner deals you seem to hate also included multiple world series rings. The Giants would be crazy not to aggressively pursue a player like Burnes.

Yes! We made it through a Physical Exam for a signed player! 😂⚾️ REJOICE, GIANTS NATION!!! Now, Let's get the Corbin Burnes deal done, try to sign Tucker and get ready for S.T. and the 2025 season! Let's GO GIANTS! ⚾️⚾️⚾️

Ben, why do you think Adames was chosen over Kim?

    • @jasonkay8749
      @jasonkay8749 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

A few months back Kim was thought to be a better fit for the Giants so I am interested in why previous expectation on Kim was usurped by signed Adames. Thanks Ben.

@@jasonkay8749in my opinion adames can play opening day is a big factor. He also has better power then Kim.

@@biggdub510 so do you think early expectations on Kim anticipated Giants wouldn’t pay Adames money and give up the draft picks? Rather than identifying the best shortstop in free agency for the Giants as the target?

You’re giving Failhan waaaay too much credit. He wouldn’t have gotten Adames

Ben, Adames might be a good signing, but he's not going to sell an extra thousand or two thousand tickets per game. Normal, fair weather baseball fan who has no idea where Willy Adames started his career! Adames is no, Harper, Ohtani, Judge or Bonds who draw fans. Would Posey on his own ever drawn fans if the team didn't win 3 world series? I like the signing, but he woun't move the needle where the attendance gate is concerned unless the giants win the division and they go get a flashy, top flight trade figure.

I think you're wrong. With Oakland leaving to Sac. Town, the Giants are almost GUARANTEED to draw more MLB fans in the Bay Area in 2025!

I See what you’re saying but I think something like that will happen over time. if he comes here and is a leader kind of like how hunter pence was I think people come to the ballpark to see him and fall in love with him

Also, he was playing in Milwaukee and Tampa two very small markets if he had played in LA or San Diego or New York. He would’ve been a household name.
