Slade owes an old Scottish Hymn for the Tune. The hymn is called "There is a Happy Land (Far, Far Away.)" The Hymn featured prominently on the 1944 black and white version of Arsenic and Old lace starring Cary Grant and Peter Lorre. When I watched the movie and first heard and recognized the hymn, I about fell out of my chair because I was so familiar with the song by Slade. It was a great song and it is fun to listen to.
