    For those wondering if I helped them out financially or not I did. I just kept it off camera. The husband told me his neighbors steal his crops sometimes so I didn't want anybody knowing what I gave him and try to steal it or something.

      @@galeparker1067 lack of education is the 1st culprit why most of people end up in poverty.. even the person crawl in hard work simply not enough for sometime all knowing people tend to decieved those unlearned. like in this case the head of the family takes really good care of his family but while away having his child checked up evil people took advantage of his croops.

    This is an important video. I'm a fourth grade teacher in an affluent community. My students are kind hearted, but many are naive about the world and how blessed most Americans are. Those were beautiful people making a happy home despite difficult circumstances. Life is what you make it. I'll be showing my students this video and teaching them about perspective. Thanks for the valuable content.

    • @Oldteachers
      @Oldteachers 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @jesus perezThank you for the advice. I respect your point of view and can definitely brush up on my history. I'm sure there is some interesting reason behind why people from the United States of America call themselves Americans when compared to why people from los Estados Unidos Mexicanos call themselves Mexicans. I believe it has to do with the word that's last in the country's official name. Me naci en Puerto Rico y entiendo algunas de Las razones porque personas de otros paises piensan mal de Americanos. If we want to take things to the heart of the matter, it's my opinion that only Native Americans should be referred to as Americans. But I was just making a simple comment about the value of the video. It was very insightful. My students actually learned a lot and were impressed by the family's kindness and ingenuity. The lesson I taught was about perspective. So, yes, I believe I understand the reason for your comment. And,.I agree, studying other countries histories, as written from their perspective, would be a worthwhile endeavor.

      Putting the burden of other nations poverty onto children is not right. Why do teachers think it is their job to do this? Its not. Their parents will teach them about the world, moral issues and societal problems when they feel the child is ready. Its not your job. This is why people are increasingly angry over teachers.

    • @Oldteachers
      @Oldteachers ปีที่แล้ว

      @@smalltownhomesteadAC I teach at an International Baccalaureate school. Being caring and empathetic toward others within our nation's boarders, and beyond them, is literally one of the things I am expected to teach. Parents are well aware of what type of school they are sending their kids to. We have kids who raise thousands of dollars for people in other countries on their own accord; kids who are curious about what's happening in their world. They are purposefully taught to be global thinkers. They will inherited this planet and all of it's problems. Why not put them in a position where they can think about how to be good citizens of it? This video is a great introduction to poverty. Besides, there are plenty of families who live in similar circumstances in the states. I've taught their kids, and I was just as impressed by their fortitude and grace as I was by the qualities modeled by the family featured in this video.

    That breaks my heart man. Seeing kids with any medical issues in that type of environment where they can’t get any true help hurts to see. I cried seeing that family. The love and positivity that father maintains in conditions that aren’t ideal is amazing to see. I wish there was a way we as fans can help them. They deserve so much more and the help of others, those children especially need proper medical attention. I will be thinking about that family a lot. And know in dark moments in our coZy western lives how others can be living happy with virtually nothing but salvaged items from a garbage dump.

    Me da mucha pena los niños en esas condiciones, esa gente necesita ayuda lo mas pronto posible, y los niños necesitan atención médica

    Great episode. So much beauty in simplicity. Hopefully the anu language will survive. It’s necessary to teach in schools like she said

    Wow I'm amazed at how resourceful this family is. I'm worried about the little one with seizures. How can we help her get the medicine she needs.
