As a young person we are so screwed by this government and this budget. I also don’t believe any of this will even work
It won't work, look at the amount of debt they have built the last 8 years, life has gotten hard, our money is worthless.
As a young person ( I will have to wait to see how the budget will impact me- unlike you, I can't see the future), but I do know that cool millhouse -failed as housing minster and his leader is still one of the worst leaders in Canada's history - but I am guessing you just upset about covid or something else

The biggest problem with this budget not mentioned - is capital gains tax on business- now at 100% inclusive ( vs 66% for individuals)-Think about it for a moment.. how does this attract new businesses to Canada..how does it inspire new capital investments by Canadian business…why would a successful business even STAY in Canada?How does this impact our economy and employment? Unbelievable

This budget was created by Chrystia Freeland, our finance minister, and it's based on listening to what we actual Canadians have talked to Liberals about needing. As a young voter that voted liberal previously, this will not win back my vote. Canada needs significant change and to go a different direction.
Are canadians ready for the harsh cutting that will be required to fix this big mess ? They never have before , especially in Central and Eastern Canada. Get Quebec off the tit sure would help by 28 billion at least per year, and fire a quarter million of federal employees would be required over a few years , seams like each worker has a supervisor, who had 4 more supervisors above them, and you wonder why service is getting worse.

With this new capital gain increase, someone that makes both $1 million income + $1 million capital gains = keep $772k after taxes., just over 1/3.

The proposed tax for excessive profits would definitely address the excessive profits that the big grocery stores are making. There are also excessive profits from the big 3 companies that control enternet and data. Every sector that has a monopoly should be addressed and taxed accordingly
You do realize most of the profits are from gas sales and food inflation right? If things cost more then they will make more money, common sense. Lol according to statistics Canada the most homes ever built in last 30 years was 230k last year was 220k. To hit the 3.9M homes we need to have over 550k homes per year LMAO. HOW?! Where's the lumber? The worker's? And all other materials? I was looking at a new build last year and was told due to supply constraints the build time went from 6-8 months to 10-12 months.
